is this better than Cooler Master MasterFan MF120R 120mm? https://www.mwave.com.au/product/cooler-master-masterfan-mf1…

  • I don't think these are the Mag-lev fans? if so i'd get these

    • Why wouldn't you get mag-lev?

      • +1

Bad English and Grammar - sorry!
I meant if these were the mag-lev ones, i'd defo get it

        • They do have those versions but they're much more expensive Corsair ML/QL/LL are all expensive though :L

  • +2

You've got this worded like the 3 pack is a better deal than the singles for $39 , 3 x 39 is $117 for 3 fans

For everyones clarification, you get the Corsair RGB Node PRO included with the 3 pack for an extra $7.37

    • +1

Oh.. It's meant to be separate. 3 pack comes with the lighting node and the singles are just an extension. I had to buy both as I needed 5 fans, and both 3 pack and single are the cheapest here.

  • I have 7 of these in my build and they are awesome.

    • Since I just ordered these, do you have to get a fan hub to make them work?

      • +1

No you don't. Saying that, I have the Corsair commander Pro so I can control all fans at once (I have a 360mm corsair AIO as well)

      • I’ve kitted my pc with QL fans, similar to LL but has the rings on both sides.
I’m pretty sure the lighting node hub/pro in the triple pack is just to control the lighting.
You need to make sure you have enough PWM connections on your motherboard to power and control the fan speed. If not, you could buy the commander pro or pwm splitter

      • Adding onto WarriorZ. The commander Pro allows you to control fan speeds whilst a splitter you can't. The lightning node is just for RGB control.

Your room must light up like a disco

    • I think 7 fans is just pushing dust in.

  • I wish I could justify this price for fans, they do look cool.

  • +5

    Isn't this insanely expensive for… Case… Fans?

    Might be missing something.

    • +1

It is. You can get thermaltake ring ones for half the price and they work just as well if not better. I have 3 of the 140mm ones I got a few months back (theyve gone up since) and my pc doesnt ever go higher than 65-70c and everything in it overclocked and air cooled (no liquid cooling).

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Thermaltake-Pure-Plus-12-RGB-TT-…

      • +1

I can't suggest these, I've had nothing but issues with ThermalTake RGB fans and an AMD cpu
Fans spin but don't light up
Google showed it's a known issue with no real fix

MF120R's are a bit louder but at least they work properly

        • I have never had an issue and run them in a 4 gaming pcs in my house (mine + siblings + fathers).

Thats just the nature of things electronic. E.g. my evga 1070 caught fire….doesnt mean all evga cards are shit.

      • I need to install two more fans to my rig, but I only have one system fan slot on my motherboard. Is there any way to solve this?

    • Yep, people like losing money for … lights.

Meanwhile the quietest fans at the highest performance levels are currently $34 each. No flashing lights for people who care about lighting over noise and cooling though.

      • +1

Which fans are you referring to for $34? I've got some NF-A12x25's which are decent but expensive ($75ea). Also got some Arctic P14's on the way to compare with ($26ea).

  • Looking at these or the Lian Li Bora Digital ARGB? 3pk can be had for $100.

    Which ones are better??

    • +2

If you’re simply after the best rgb lighting, It’s between the Corsair QL’s or TT riing quads.

If you want the best airflow or silence, then that’s another issue.

      • best airflow or silence, then that’s another issue.

hijacking answer to post a good deal on a decent non-RGB, static pressure fan. good for use with radiators. I cant seem to find AU stock of this fan, nor is it still available on Amazon. only can find it in Japanese on their local sites, or this German site with english language.

price is $USD18.12 + shipping but the site gives free shipping over 23ish dollars so two fans works out about $50.50 AUD after currency conversion.

        CFM 16.8~100.8
        (mmH2O / Pa) 0.08~2.81 / 0.78~27.56
        (dBA) 4.19~26.45

edit: as i realised most of you dont need 140mm fans for your radiators,
same site has 120mm versions of the same fan for $14USD

    • 6 leds vs 16 on the Corsair. Integration with corsairs icue software. If you’re buying these it’s for that reason, and not necessarily airflow or price

  • I was looking at these for awhile, but the Corsair tax is insane. I went with the Cooler Master Masterfan mf 120f Halo from Centrecom, $85 delivered. They visually look just as good and performance is about equal.

    • How do you find the controller with those ones though? Just one button? Or do you control with mobo or CM software somehow?

      • Yeah there’s Mobo control so it’s good. I believe it’s 3-pin argb. They’re also adding the Halos to Cooler Masters RGB software sometime this quarter hopefully, so USB connection should work as well.

  • This is a good price but personally if I was going to splash cash for RGB, I'd rather pay a little extra for QL120.

  • +2

    $40 a case fan a deal??

    • +3

Wait until you see Noctua's fans

    • Don't forget the 16 x 2c LEDs!

    • +2

yes I was wondering why are three fans so expensive… might as well get an nvme for that price

      • +1

there are fans with NVME now??

    • +1

The rgb on the fan's themselves better than most competitors but you're also buying into Corsair's iCue rgb software integration which is admittedly pretty good. It sucks buying different branded rgb parts and having to install all their software to control them.

  • Asiahorse. One of the best brand and good quality budget entry RGB lighting fan that will surely give the higher end brands a good run for their money.

  • Not recommend for radiator

  • If you are on a budget, how are upHere fans?

  • Just got the QL versions they're pretty awesome. Hurts the wallet though at $170 delivered.
