  • wouldnt an oculus quest be a better choice?

    • +1

At around half the price the Quest is a better choice for most consumers.

This HTC device was meant for 'commercial' use, think like training for doctors or mechanics. It wasn't really marketed for gamers, but with Viveport Infinity (a paid subscription service) you unlock the ability stream games wirelessly to it.

The nail in the coffin is probably the inferior tracking tech, reviews say the controller tracking isn't that great.

Oculus headsets have more than double the number of cameras for room and controller tracking.

I haven't heard a single good thing about this HMD.

  • I seem to remember getting an email the other day telling me $1099 was the normal price.

Edit: Sorry, it was for the Vive Cosmos Elite.

  • +1

What you want is the vive cosmo elite or the vive pro, but you need the lighthouses which are ridiculously expensive to buy (unless you already have them from the OG Vive) and you really only want these if you are planning on buying a vive wireless kit.
