Hasn't this been going since like 12pm?

If it's the cotd I know and love there will only be a quantity of 2 or 3 of each item.

    Website crashed yet?

  • Website is up. But the minute an item comes up, it locks up. And by the time you refresh it, it's sold out. But you have to promise not to complain about this "feature" before it lets you in.

    • i promised not to complain but now my wife is complaining!

I got a Belkin cover for a ipad for 1 cent

Finally, a use for those 144 condoms. You can put one on before you visit this site just in case you feel you might catch something…

Since when is a Crash of The Day lottery considered an ozbargain??

    • +2

      Since it's FREE!
      (if you ignore shipping)
(and if you ignore your time spent clicking refresh for an hour)

I was all like, man I could've really used an extra two cordless phones.
Now they're giving away baby monitors..

    • At least they aren't giving away babies, by the time it gets to your door…

      I'll stop there!

  • Wow. By the time it refreshed for me, the latest item (baby sleeper) was sold out. That was like 2 minutes.

  • +2

Put it in the forums, more of a competition really

  • its like they have 5 or something.. sold out before the checkout even loads.. (in the first minute).
    lame

  • sold out in first minute and a half :(

  • Neg

  • Yeah, when they have so few in stock, it's more a competition than a bargain.

  • Posted this in the forum section. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55703

I knew it would get neg votes.

  • +1

Nothing to see here, literally…COTD have like 1 stock of these deals.

  • +2

Biggest scam. They only have like 1 or 2 to give away and they generate high traffic on the website so the servers get full and crash

  • +3

Waste of time. Everything is sold out after a minute. Looks like they just want your email address.

  • . I missed the first two sadly :(

Even if you miss out but get to payment stage check your statement online. I was charged for items that I was told I missed out on last time they held a similar event. Apparently I wasn't the only one.

    • Yer I was charged 7 times for only getting 4 items, then I got charged $59.90 from them.

  • +1

Very restricted quantities with extremely low chance of a purchase. Definitely not a bargain. Sorry OP, nothing personal but these sales don't belong here.

  • forget it..all item sold out within the first 20second. i rather do something useful than getting myself disappointed.

  • When I tried to buy Remington C2000 Crimptini Ceramic Crimper, it showed ALMOST GONE for more 10 seconds, but I still couldn't go through SECURITY CHECKOUT all the time. It's really SECURITY,maybe only staff had the key :D

I don't have a kid but was going to go donate mine (if I did manage to get it) to the local mothers support group

COTD! they just play with customers. Putting a few items and selling them out in a min. This sort of marketing just kills their name. Neg

  • to their credit though, their website did load up this time round, previously i had to set up 10 tabs on multiple browsers and still can't get thing loaded up, its now pointing to googleapp or some sort

yes, i missed out on the baby catcher, the cordless phone etc etc as well

  • "It's our 5th birthday and being tight-arse, instead of giving our loyal customers some good ozbargain-worthy discount, we are continuing our crapthon teaser campaign to waste our customers' time and thereby generate the maximum angst as a way of repaying them for supporting us in the past. Oh, everyone is invited so long as they promise not to complain of bad treatment."

Your time would be better spent on bidding for something that you actually want on eBay.

Just look at what I've got!! What a deal don't you think?

    • lol are people like you who allow cotd being alive.
Really you ordered that stuff, I see no real value there but yet delivery is $74.45 for some things you can buy at $2 shops.

  • The whole day's just been one big epic disappointment. Posting this, and so late at that, earns you extra Fail. Neg.

  • FAIL

  • My neg vote from deals post "no combined shipping". lol

  • cotd sales are fail

    Hi OzBargainers,

Obviously as we're celebrating and this is a very very popular event, we've invested BIG dollars into our server infrastructure and expect to be able to handle more traffic than ever before, but being such a popular day there naturally are some delays. Also we did have a good amount of each item up for grabs but it is a first in best dressed deal, we wish we had some for everyone but….when you're this popular!

As everyone was competing against some 400,000 fast Aussies for a limited quantity of products and the chances of getting something are quite slim. However, it was stated on the website before entering that this was the case.

If you have any questions or need me to follow up on something please contact me at jen@catchoftheday :)

    • Are you a representative, because you should state it clear otherwise you seem like doing free advertising (or shockpuppeting) for COTD.

      • I have been contacted by Catch of the day about them over charging me, they have said that there system has charged me for items but the COTD server did not create the order, but due to having no stock they can not provide me any items, so how can they sell the Sony PIIQ Headphones?

        http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_…

    • Um, yeah. First you've just cut'n'pasted this, and 2nd, you're a day late.

      … welcome to OzBargain? :-P

  • My apologies, my name is Jen and I do in fact work for Catch of the Day. I came across this post and thought I'd try and offer people some help if they had any questions, concerns or needed something followed up on an order. Just trying to help out and offer a point of call, like I said I welcome your emails so that I can assist :)

    • Appreciated, but you should show "rep" next to your name so we know who you're also this is the rule.

And I feel sorry because you'll have hard time here there seem to be many concerns about COTD also so many negs. :P

      • Heh, man, I used to enjoy catching something! Now it's like herpes… DO NOT WANT!

  • fail.

so what is the record for negs?

    • A lot more than 20. I think one of mine's had at least 30 before, and I vaguely recall something in the hundreds.

      • The 5 plus you see mush be from fake accounts.

  • No more COTD!!!!!!!! Don't be caught by COTD!!!!!!! lol
