'Genuine leather' - when only the next step up in quality from 'imitation leather' will do..

I see the original references to 'genuine leather' has been removed from the OP.

Is it too late to cancel the orders ????

Yeah.. the word "Genuine" in Genuine leather does not indicate the authenticity of the leather but rather the grade of leather.
    Genuine leather - lowest quality
    Top-grain leather - middle-of-the-road quality
    Full-grain leather - highest-quality

Have no idea whats "genuine Saffiano leather" is but i think "Saffiano leather" is a pattern and could be real or fake leather.

Authentic Faux Leather, From Only The Best Hand-Raised, Grain-Fed Fauxs

      • That's such a relief, us old folk had to survive a life of grain-fed(weetbix) foes.

    • Problem is that everyone thinks "genuine leather" means proper leather. In reality it means like a thin veneer of leather, yet people will still describe proper leather as being "genuine leather" anyway. You can't rely on "genuine leather" alone to be an indicator of bad quality. Someone could sell a full grain highest quality leather couch on Gumtree and describe it as genuine leather, because to the layman that's what genuine leather is. So the little shop that orders a dozen in a month, whoever enters it into the product description might call it genuine leather.

I think you're right in your assessment that 'genuine leather' is thrown around for junk leather. What we mean is that these wallets are not 'bonded leather' which is the lowest grain of leather used as the base, then it's overlaid by the veneer and after minimal use, starts to peel. There's a full section on our website declaring the leathers we use and you're welcome to cross reference that with other reliable content elsewhere on the web.

    • You're on the right track huu but there's trade offs in durability - Full and top grain are very supple but not the best material for wallets as they can scuff easily and don't last. What we try to infer by using 'genuine leather' is that these are not 'bonded leather' or glued on leather.

Why do so few wallets have a coin pocket nowadays? Where do people put their coins?

    • we agree! we used to sell them a few years ago but they didn't sell….

  • +1

Hey Guys - OP here, we're still alive and active and no, these are not fake leather. Saffiano refers to the texture pressed into the leather and these are made from proper cow leather, as all our other products.

All current orders are being processed today and we only have around 50 wallets left.
