nice speakers, but beware - they're front ported. This may be good for some, e.g. if placing close to a wall.

Or not so good, such as for near-field listening - unless you like having air blown in your face from the bass-hole

I think for most people, front ported would be preferable given speakers are normally placed close to wall. Plus these are probably a bit on the large side for near field/desktop setup.

    • Read this as:

air blown in your face from the ass-hole

and I'm like sure, but why?

      I need coffee.

  • How would these compare to q-acoustic 3000 series?

  • I bought the debut 5.2 Centre a while back (which is excellent btw) and planned to match it with the debut 5.2 bookshelves and possible the 4.2 on-wall speakers (which also are a great price atm.. maybe I should post?: amazon.com.au/Debut-OW4-2-Wall-Speakers-Black/dp/B07B4LXZKJ). I'm a little frustrated because it seems that the 5.2 bookshelves haven't been at a decent price in ages and are a little harder to come by. I'm almost considering going the 6.2 even though they are a little bigger than what I need and won't match the centre, if anything because they are cheaper. So annoyed I didn't jump on it way back when they were going for $310! (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/507977). Please tell me the 5.2 will go on sale again to make me feel better? :)

    • Don't get too hung up on the matching - I've got the C5.2 combined with Pioneer SPFS52 towers and that is a far bigger mismatch, and its only very rarely that I notice it - e.g. with speech combined with wild camera pans so the speech starts on the left, goes to the centre and then ends up on the right, there is a noticeable pitch change. For 90% of special effects and so forth, it is totally acceptable. IMHO of course.

The C5.2, B5.2 and B6.2 have the same tweeter and all crossover at the same point between woofer and tweeter so the mismatch will be much less noticeable.

      • Thanks for the reassurance :) I think aesthetically they'll look pretty well identical besides being a little bigger. And you're right, the only minor difference would be maybe slightly deeper/better bass reproduction on the 6.2 wouldn't it? And I guess if I'm crossing it over to a sub that probably won't come into play much at all (and even if it did, it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing!)

  • Deal is gone.

I was tempted before, but would of had to have gotten stands and likely a new amplifier.

    • Still significantly cheaper than local stock.
Also keep as eye on kef speakers on Amazon.

  • cnet are pretty trash reviews for audio. I think these speakers are alright though.

    • Steve Guttenberg reviews for them
