Bowden's Own Big Green Sucker Microfibre Towel $27.99 (Was $39.99) @ Supercheap Auto

200

Bit cheaper than the most recent deal but not as cheap as it has been a bit earlier. Good middle ground I guess if you need it now.

  • any good. seems pretty expensive for a towel. I just use smaller 100% cotton towels.

they are softer & soak up more water than most of the generic microfibre cloths you get.

    • I was a sceptic. Purchased it. Now I'm a believer. It's incredible (for real) Thanks Bowden's Own Big Green Sucker Microfibre Towel!

    • They're very good. I can dry our CX9 or two smaller cars with one cloth. No need to wring it out…and it's deep and plush so won't damage/mar the paintwork.

But we've been spoilt with Bowden's sales over time. I've got 2 and wouldn't buy another one unless they're at least 40% off. They come up at half price occasionally.

  • How does this compare to the $4.50 one at Kmart?

I've been using the Kmart one and find it more than sufficient?

The kmart one is made out of polyester and the one above is made out of microfibre.

      • Microfibre is technically polyester.

Although I have not tried the Kmart drying towel, I would probably guess that Bowden's is of higher quality and holds more water.

        • I've tried the standard style, like the ones from aldi.
The big green sucker and the meguires yellow one.

Honestly after washing the meguires seems to be better. Bowdens just don't feel as good after washing.

          • @brocky2006: You need to dry the BGS in the dryer. Or air dry then a quick tumble in the dryer or blast with a hair dryer if you don't have a dryer…it fluffs all the fibres back up which is crucial to it working properly.

          • @brocky2006: Have found using a dedicated microfibre wash detergent improves the cloth's repeated usefulness. Always just air dry on a clothes horse inside after a spin cycle.

I've tried both. It's 2 minute noodles Vs. Aria.

  • The green big sucker compare to Rug Company's similar product is not that great to be honest, doesn't suck as much water as i hope.

    • Bowden's is made in Australia and is widely available compared to The Rag Company.

      • You can get them from a few detailing stores in Australia, The Rag Company DRYING TOWEL Platinum Pluffle does cost a bit more than big green sucker, but it sucks a lot better, i have both of them. I found green big sucker hard to use and wring out..

I bought this a bit cheaper from an earlier deal and it's amazing. Used it to dry my entire car, didn't need to wring it out once. In fact, at the end I literally could not wring out any water at all (and that's not from a lack of strength lol). This thing literally sucks

    • You actually shouldn't wring it out when drying as it saturates all the fibres and makes it less effective…but I'm the same, can easily dry a large car with one. If you use Boss Gloss, it's even more effective!

  • I can confirm this thing sucks big time.
