All the certification gurus must be at a protest or something.

  • "South Korea has been successful in dealing with COVID19, and their products are of high quality! "……Does this mean North Korea makes even better mask?? Just asking.

Price is fair given the current condition.

      Hi,

That was not my intended message. However, I understand that people may interpret it that way.

Therefore, I have modified my post.

Thank you for your comment! :)

    • once north and south re-united together, they will beat any other countries.

      • Once they reunite, I hope that they will be able to produce more goods that could benefit other countries as well! :)

In relation to transmission of viruses via aerosols; 95% released as aerosols by humans are around 5 microns or less. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(20)30323-4/fulltext

Masks need to be able to filter below this level or the airborne viral particles can pass straight through them.
Ineffective masks are dangerous as users may assume they are protected and enter area of high risk (crowded shops etc) believing they are protected, when they are not.

    • Hi,

Thank you for your comment! :)

      I understand your concern.

I will update the post with the requested information on Monday.

    • Interesting article, thanks KT. It's primarily about infection control in health care but has some messages for broader use. Unless I've misread, the article states unequivocally that surgical masks worn by patients significantly decreases transmission (which is the point of masks for the public), as does physical distancing.

      • Yes, well from my reading, it was previously thought that Covid-19 was being transmitted mostly by leaving the airways in larger droplets from coughing and sneezing. Droplets larger than 5 microns and up to 100 microns which would be more likely to end up on floors and surfaces.
More recent studies are showing much smaller virus containing droplets can become aerosols and float around for days: 'Particles that are 5 μm or smaller in size can remain airborne indefinitely'. These are mostly around 5 microns (85%) and are much more dangerous in enclosed spaces, thus the need for masks that can finely filter.
This is just an interested laymen's interpretation, although my wide does work in the field.

This was known during January 2020

          • @Turd: Link? There has been plenty of debate in expert circles about aerosol, and corona virus spread (SARS, MERS), and community transmission via that mechanism.

If micro droplet transmission in communities was a big factor then there would be little point in the public wearing most masks, and yet anecdotal 'evidence' seems to suggest they play a significant part in limiting spread.

One recent example of supposed aerosol transmission concerned a restaurant in China where a no-mask carrier (apparently) infected 3 or 4 others at his table. This was promoted by one Australian expert as "proof" of aerosol transmission - without her knowing how the meal and drinks were shared, or what other personal contact the carrier had with his co-diners before, during, and after. Further, others in the room, including staff, remained Covid-19 free. Far too many leaps of faith there to state categorically that aerosol was the issue imo.

We won't actually have definitive conclusions about the roles aerosol and masks play for years. Better to be safe than sorry though.

            • @[Deactivated]: The medical people say you can use your underwear or socks ripped up to make masks. :D

              • @Turd: To rob a bank?

              • @Turd: Well, the thing is there are two vectors of transmission - two problems:

1/ Larger 'say it don't spray it' spit droplets, containing the virus, that travel for a few metres then hit the ground - these are absorbed by cotton masks and are the reason for our 1.5m social distancing rule

2/ Aerosol virus-containing-particles that are much finer (5 microns average) and just float around in the air. They are a problem indoors. For these we need the proper filtration provided by real surgical masks which usually filter down to 0.3 microns and p2 respirators.

This is also why so many of the generic and fake masks are dangerous. The virus particles go straight through them.

    Huge bargain??? Are u sure?
Unique Selling Point, Made in South Korea. Really? So you saying that Kia and Hyundai are good too???

    • +8

Kia and Hyundai better than Great Wall tho

    • -2

They Kia & Hyundai aren’t made in Korea. Significant majority of the parts are made in China. Assembled in South Korea is accurate.

Source: multiple dealers earlier this year when i wanted to purchase a new vehicle.

      • As far as I know, most of parts factories for Hyundai and Kia are located in South Korea. Hyundai and Kia are same company and their parts company is Hyundai Mobis and it is located in Ulsan South Korea.

    • I am saying Hyundai and Kia are good these days.
      Definitely.

      • I remember the old Hyundai Excel of the 90's lol most people I knew that owned them had lots of problems…

But, they were New Car Owners with an entry price of about $13K, if I recall correctly?

        • I remember when I was a kid (1970s) and Japanese cars were considered a joke and an embarrassment to own. Thirty years later, they were on top of the world.
I think the Koreans have ascended in much the same way - a 1990 Excel is another world from a 2020 Hyundai and outdoing the Japanese in many classes.

I quite like the recent Kia Cerato GT (sedan) very nice car

I was also a kid in the 70's, albeit a very little kid. My Dad was very much into cars (and Tech), ahead of the curve and was already into Japanese made well before a lot of this country…

I remember drawing a Nissan Skyline circa 1986…

        Hi,

Thank you for your comment! :)

I do not think that what I say can change your impression on us.

        However, let me say this.

We launched BYECOVID because we are able to do something different about the virus in Australia. If you take look at the equipment category, you could see that we supply sneeze guards that function as barriers between 4 people. These sneeze guards have been very effective in South Korea, where they have been used in schools, libraries, offices and etc. However, the said equipments are not distributed in Australia at the moment. Through such products, we hope that we can bring a positive change to Australia.

Also, here's a secret (well, not anymore):

The 20% discount can only be used once per user (received upon registration). After placing your first order, I highly recommend creating another account to receive another 20% discount! Take advantage of our flawed system and keep yourself safe! :)

You must be new here. People regularly do a lot more than that for another discount code 😂
It's just second nature to Ozbargain lol.

          • @pennypincher98: I am new, indeed!

Is that so? That's very good to hear!

  • What's the difference between these and the MB masks on your website for $2 more?

Also, are the $9 reusable masks 3 layer fabric? Doesn't mention it in the description so I presume not…

    • Hi!

My sincere apologies for the delay in response.

As the name suggests, the MB masks have MB filter, which is a highly efficient air fabric filter that blocks harmful substances.

It's been used in South Korea for further protection against COVID19 (as well as against fine dust and pollen).

As for the $9 reusable masks, they are not 3-layered.

      Hope that answers your question!

As far as I know, all the proper Korean masks have a KF (Korea Filter) rating imprinted on the package from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. This one doesn't seem to have any certification badges, at least not on the box in the photos.

    • Plus "First Cure Lab" doesn't exist in South Korea because they don't even have a co.kr website. The search came back into a Shenzhen company.
