Been buying from these Guys this year! Sensational coffee and very competative pricing! Sample packs are incredible value for trying the different varieties.

  • Might have a hard time getting through a 4kg sampler pack before the month is up, unless you're in
    an office environment?

    • Yeah that's what I thought too… but working from home increased my coffee consumption :)

    • Maybe I've missed something, but what does one month have to do with anything?

(Only thing that comes to mind are those 1-month coffee freshness type rules)

      • That's pretty much it. It goes stale after a while

        • +1

Put it into small bags and freeze. Defrost as you need.

          Problem solved.

@nakahanap: I use air tight canisters to store my coffee beans. Gone with a few months and it still tastes pretty good, max prob around 6 months then starts to notice the aroma dropping.

Got a smallish freezer, so it is reserved for wagyu haha.

    4 kg for a sample?

    • +2

I find that I need a kilo to sample coffee correctly TBH.

With the amount of coffee thats drunk in my house it makes sense for me to buy this.

  • Great price, with standard shipping it's +$5 = $71.50 total. Seems to be roasted on order according to FAQ.

Will this deal last for a while?

1kg is huge for a sample size :D Purchased!

    • 1kg X 4 is huge ( guaranteed stale for those who demand fresh ) for a sample size .

  • whats a good strong blend recommendation

How do these compare to the Aldi Lazzio beans?

    • +2

Infinitely better in my view, I suspect largely because I’ve not been able to snag fresh Aldi ones.

  • How do these compare to Manna Beans?

I drink milk based coffee so a lot of roasters are roasting too dark to my taste.

Try the Crema Ultimo from these guys. It is cracking. Smooth and beautiful in a latte, f/w or piccolo.

    • Manna Beans has been marginally better consistently but that special is usually $30 per kg delivered and you can't choose what you get in the deal.

I suggest the 4x 250g sampler packs if you're not too sure with Sicilia.

I've ordered from both Sicilia and Manna exclusively for the last year or so. I've not tried the Mocha so I'll go for that next from Sicilia.

  • We have been working our way through various beans from Sicilia over the last few months, all have been great.
If I had to pick one favourite it would be Crema Ultimo which is in this sampler pack.

Is it just beans or can they grind?

  • +1

This is cheaper per KG, if like most of us, coffee either tastes good or bad. https://www.siciliacoffee.com.au/collections/specials/produc…

Try promo code: AUU2020 only $61.53 including shipping… don’t be harsh… it’s my first post in ozbargain :p

    • "AUU2020 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart"

      for the 4KG Sampler

      • Really.. I paid $61.53 only…

I’ve been buying from these guys for about two years.

Crema Ultimo is amazing. Comes to about $30kg delivered (cheaper if you do a bigger order with friends). It is less than 1/2 the price of what I Have paid in the past for similar quality beans.

Danny from Sicilia beans is a champ. Awesome service.

Hmmm, i would have tried them out, but been a pretty loyal customer to Two Cracks for ages now and love their single origin organic beans. And just ordered 2kg from them…

  • These blends don't even mention which origins they're from..

Guys I'm really sensing these are all exploited/child labor farms.

I'm happy buying from Coffee Cartel, atleast I can trace back where my coffee comes from.

    • As someone who has worked in the coffee roasting industry for many years, I can tell you the only way you can be sure that exploited labour is not being used is to visitor the farms yourself, or if you personally know the owners and trust them. The "Fairtrade" and "Rainforest Alliance" certifications are totally bogas and are easily acquired by paying the money. I know of many farms who are fully certified but have never been audited by these organisations.

      • Yes I avoid all of those trademarks too.

Coffee cartels always posts photos of the trips to the farms and the growers. It's usually around $55-$75 a kg but the money goes back to where it's needed most.

        • How can we be sure that the photos were "posed" for? like photos we get out of pyongyang……
Hardly verifiable and no governing body.

          • @lplau: Nathan the owner is a long standing member of coffeesnobs forum. Now owns 2 of the best cafes in Melbourne.

If you know coffee you'd know coffee cartels. Attends MICE each year and he's in most of the photos with farmers.

Sources some of the best Ethiopian beans on the planet.

            Know your coffee.
