  • Price?

    • $38 plus about $7 shipping

  • How long does the 10GB last?

    • I tried asking them that and the guy on the live chat hasn't replied yet. And he is saying that there is a 2GB data bonus as well if u activate it before 2nd of next month

    • I'm guessing 30 days.

    • +1

It doesn't say on the site but it's usually 30 days.

Although since it's not 10GB, it's two USB modems each with 5GB, you could register one and use up to 5GB for 30 days then register the other and use it up to 5GB for another 30 days.

  • +1

im guessing it doesnt support the new 850 network?

    • +1

I guess that's why they are clearing them out

  • +2

This modem can be unlocked for free: http://a-zgsm.com/huawei.php

    [edit] will investigate further first

[edit 2] nope it's just flogging old crap modems and the data deal isn't anything special. There have been plenty of deals for around $20 for 5Gb lately so even ignoring the modem and just going for data value, it's nothing special.

    • okay, can you please link one so we can compare?

      • Woolworths 5GB plus calls, 45 days, $29-10% comes close.

    NOTE

These modems will not operate with the new improved metro 850mHz Voda network.
Can unlock and flash generic Huawei dashboard, then use with Optus/Virgin etc after using up the 10GB with Voda… so OK with a bit of stuffing around.

    EDIT:
Sorry looks like they are not Huawei but crappier ZTE version

  • Note, this is the old K3751 modem which does not support the new 850mHz network - even if you usually have good VF coverage in your area you may have issues with this device.

  • Ok i dont want it anymore

  • Was very confused with the title, was wondering how they were going to charge you shipping for 10gb of 3g data…

  • Not a bargain for sure… Last time I paid $99 for 15G and it lasts whole year. This one is buy one get one for free deal which each one only lasts 1 month.

    • +1

if you used 5GB/month, then this would be a better deal.

  • Vodafail have 850MHz usb dongle with 5GB for $22 using "ozbargain" discount code.
Crazy Johns have 850MHz usb dongle with 2GB for $14 or 4GB for $24. I might get this one since the huawei e173 can be used with my acer iconia a500 tablet.

    • The CJ's and Vodas also support the 850MHz network…

      • Where can you find these deals? Been to the vodafone website and the closest I could find was a 4GB deal ($29/month plus $49 once off for the modem - without any coupon code.)

$22 for a modem incl 5GB would be great… pls let me know where to find that if available.

        EDIT: found the site (http://shop.vodafone.com.au/all-broadbands?id=700016&cmp=pri…)
Didn't realize how expensive their recharges are. But a good option if you just need internet on the go for about a month.

        • The cheapest that I see on that vodaphone page is $44 for 5gb. Where is it $22 for 5gb?

    • "Vodafail have 850MHz usb dongle with 5GB for $22 using "ozbargain" discount code."

I search ozbargain and I could not find this. The cheapest that I see on that vodaphone page is $44 for 5gb. Where is it $22 for 5gb?

      • Apply the discount code "ozbargain" to get 50% off

  • This modem has probably caused me more problems than any other piece of hardware or gadget I have ever owned.
Horrible hardware, and horrible software + drivers accompanying it. The best solution I was ever able to come up with was ditching the software, and just using it as a dial-up modem, and even that was touchy at best.
Don't waste your time and money.

    $45 for 0 value… That's not a bargain.
