Not the cheapest ever but pretty good price for covid19 pricing.

agree unless people are dying to play cod mw at 1440p 144hz with 150+ fps on ultra like myself lol, but honestly could probably re-sell for 100-200 less?
Haha I had to make a new build for a similar use case (accepted not getting that fps at ultra because of budget so opted for a 2080 S)
Wish I could have waited but honestly couldn't and since Melbourne is in restrictions it's paid it's dividends
Good luck in Verdansk!
No, this is the card that will have its value tank the most.
The GPU die was so close to the maximum limit, that's why the price was so high. The 3080 isn't constrained in the same way, and will exceed its performance.
So your card will go down at least $600 in value overnight, more likely to less than half due to the 3080 having superior rasterisation performance and vastly superior RTX features.
There's been news articles for weeks saying that this is a terrible purchase to make, and this is the most basic 2080 Ti you can buy, selling for above MSRP because it's been discontinued.
That all adds up to a neg for me: I strongly advise you return this card immediately and wait a few weeks, otherwise purchase a 2080 or 2080 Super.
press x to doubt
No. I bought the same RTX 2080 Ti VENTUS for around the same price in February. He's right.
Is this the sign of new 3000 series coming ?
rumor has it that the 3080 will be faster than the 2080Ti … but so far just rumors and no prices .. rumor also suggests that the cards will come in at the same price slots as the current gen … i.e. 3080 = 2080/2080S etc…
I wouldn't be buying anything like this or the 2080 super so close to new cards from both Nvidia and AMD.
Does this mean the RTX 3080 will be $2000+? Graphics cards have gone insane…
Yeah, not too hopeful on the price for the 3080 and 3090
3099, they'll bring back the dual gpu cards or make a new dual core gpu card….
They won't make MCM cards until next gen (Hopper) at the earliest, and that still may not be for the consumer.
Don't expect a 3090/3080Ti at launch, but for most people that's not going to matter.
@jasswolf: mcm? never heard of them be called that before…
@Zachary: Multi-chip module, or in this instance, something using chiplets (similar to Ryzen).
With TSMC 5nm, density is going up 80%, but thermal dissipation is starting to become an issue (they will be moving to a different transistor type at 3nm), so the answer is going to be MCM past a certain point.
Samsung are sidestepping this entirely by making their 5nm version a relatively small increase in density.
@jasswolf: Hmmmm….interesting….
Not worth it at this point, it's looking like the 3080 (which will likely be the same price the 2080 is now) will be 20% faster than a 2080ti
I was looking at the 2080super version of this card (not this deal) however went a different brand due to heat concerns. Just putting it out there.
Cheers
At this point your better off waiting most of these companies would have high cost covid stock which they will try to burn out prior to the release.
