I wonder if it's worth buying one of these to build my new PC while I wait for the new CPUs and GPUs to come out… I have everything else ready to build (except the CPU and GPU). I'd need to find a cheap GPU too, since this CPU doesn't have onboard graphics from my understanding?
Yes
No onboard graphics. It'd be a cheap decent cpu to hold out until the next gen drops, as for gpu get something like the gtx 1650/1660 or 5500XT.
find a used 200g / 3000g / 2200g
2200g on 1600gpu clk with 3200ram = better than gt1030 gddr5
Sorry I'm not sure what you mean. Is 2200g an APU so it has both CPU and graphics?
Won't work in a B550 board btw
@scuderiarmani: I have an MSI X570 Tomahawk. Would a Ryzen 5 3200g be a good option? It's about $240 on Amazon and that's really cheap if it means I don't need to buy a CPU and separate GPU.
@Duckman: Just double check its in the CPU support list in your boards page, I'm pretty sure it's fine.
I had to get a 570 GPU as my B550 couldn't take APUs
Use it for a few months then sell for $80-100 on gumtree, great place holder cpu
I'm just wondering if I'll be able to find a cheap enough GPU as well…
There's plenty second hand
Rx 470 $100ish is the best deal
Looks like it might be time to upgrade my 2nd gen Intel soon
i5-2500k represent.
What’s a good MB for this?
That's a lot of power for $150! Great deal
