Citibank kept upping my rate from the last Citibank broker deal with another broker. Very frustrating. No longer with them

    • When was it? How long into the loan?

      • A few years ago now but every 6 months even with no RBA increase

        • All banks upped their rates in 2018 as funding costs increased

          • @El-Rhi: This was 2017 and 2018, my other loans didn't receive increases

  • Why bother with savings when you can get tax free Instant cash back!!

Had a credit card with them, their website looks like something from the 90s.

That alone is enough to drive me mad

Just settled with St George and got the cash back…how long do I wait before my next move?

    • Depends on lender but usually 3-6 months

Do it straight away… I’ve refinanced 3 times in 5 months for $12k

    • I settled with St George on March.
      what is your interest rate?
Mine is 2.74% in varialbe rate.
Just notice that St George is offering 2.64%, but they did not lower my rate……

      • Same here 2.74…need to check if they will negotiate it to the current rate

  • Does your company keep commissions from any of the banks?

  • we have achieved 2.05% discounts.

Op, can you explain what does this mean..

    • Most banks have a 'standard rate' eg 4.5% or 5%, then give you a 'discount' of up to 2.05% to reach the actual rate of ~2.5% or 3%.

  • I was originally on Citibank around 10yrs ago, when they had a physical presence everywhere. My parents and siblings were with them too.
Since they removed their physical offices, they reduced their staff dramatically.
Due to the random rate rises, the lack of physical offices (where are you going to get a bank cheque?), the lack of customer service, the general slowness in any decision making, and the reluctance to process loans in any rate of urgency, we have all changed banks.

They were really good when we first signed on. Really full of eager staff that were willing to go the extra mile. Now I cant recommend them
