Original Coupon Deal

Very good price for this 75" TV. Usually hovers around the $1990 mark.

Compared this in store with the similarly priced 75" 4K TVs, namely the TCL QLED C815, LG 75UK6500PTB and the Hisense S8 - and this Samsung beats them all hands down in picture quality.

Currently $2295 at the Good Guys: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-75-inches-tu8000-4k-u…

In before the obligatory "But Rtings say the 8000 series is rubbish" post….

Haha. Yep. I read all of those, and went in store for a good hour and compared all the ~$2k 75" TVs. Samsung was the best.

Agree, I've seen this in person in stores and love it. Don't compare the specs to previous year, as you can't buy RU series anymore. This is much better panel than other similar range TVs. Also I dint find any issues with 100Hz motion rate.

    • Went in store and compared it to TCL C815 and I don't know if the display unit is just broken or what but the Samsung TU8000 looked way better.

      • Also my experience with TCL C715 and I was wondering the same thing about that display unit… Maybe the TCL C series just isn't very sharp.

    • If you just want a very large 4K TV then sure, go for this. If you want an actual good picture then the TU8000 isn't what you're looking for.

It's one thing to read what Rtings has to say about it, but go into a store and compare the RU8000 to the Samsung Q series (even the Q60) and you'll see just how bad the colors are.

      • Honestly I'm disappointed with TV's nowadays. Everything just has crushing blacks compared to my old plasma.

Recently bought a q70 and it's annoying how Samsung has auto dimming on dark scenes that you can't turn off unless you go to the service menu and fk around with the back light pwm settings. Sh*tty way to increase perceived contrast ratios.

I have the NU7100 model of the 75 inch, Such a good TV, ticks all the boxes. And has apple airplay which is weird for completely opposite companies

    • NU7100 model

Will have to wait for this to drop to that price last year.

OP can you add the other two sizes too? Save me from making one and cluttering the deals page. :)

  • Grabbed one thank you very much :)

  • Is the 82 available?

  • No shipping to Perth :(

Says it does in the description, but won't when i add to cart.

    • Maybe try a price match at Good Guys, HN, etc?

  • Any good deals for 65"?

It was down to $1,200 - a deal was posted earlier. They have sold out though.

  • Would rather wait for more stock or pre-order to buy the QLED 75" which is $2,329 delivered.

    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/samsung-75-inch-…

    • $600+ difference. Obviously it's better buying something more expensive.

Mind you - not worth spending over $2k on a 4K TV at the moment without HDMI 2.1. That QLED doesn't have 2.1 either.

    Looks to be sold out?

    • Yep. Expired the bargain.

  • Side question given relevant knowledge may be here - I'm looking at a 75" Q70T or Q80T which I can get for a good price through an EPP.

The Q80T is $800 more than the Q70T, with the key differences being sound which is irrelevant as it'll be connected to an external system and a full backlight array in the Q80T vs edge lit in a Q70T. It'll be in a home cinema room so generally pretty dark - is the difference likely to be noticable?

  • This TV is actually nearly perfect except for one BIG issue - the DSE (dirty screen effect). If that isn't a deal breaker this is one of the best at this price.
