    $135.00 (pickup at penta computers)
D-LINK ShareCenter Pulse 2 Bay Network Storage Enclosure, DNS-320

if you factor in shipping im sure this isn't that good of a deal

I wouldn't buy it for $135 from Penta. From my experience, Penta Group's customer service is worse than any MSY I've ever been to. I had to threaten them with Fair Trading before they refunded me on a faulty laptop.

      • Also received terrible service from Penta with a video card I was looking at buying. MSY are world class in comparison.

Shipping is $8.95, so cheaper than $135 even more so if you factor in the petrol and time it costs to go to Penta computers, notwithstanding the fact that Penta computers is only accessable to a small number of people and has no relevance to internet shoppers at all.

Just by buying a d-link product you are voiding any bargain there might be.

    Average price, not a bargain.
Will get one if under 100 inc shipping.

i want the Proliant server bargain BACK

    • i got one, and I want it back too so I can get another :).

    • Yeah, I missed out on that bargain :(

I just bought a NETGEAR N600 Wireless router that has two usb ports that can do pretty much everything this NAS can do? Seems like a bit of a waste to buy just a 2-Bay NAS. Better off getting a quad NAS.

Your ID says a lot :)
Dual bays is enough for most use.

The crappy Samba implementation in this DLink messes up file times.

    • would mapping it as a drive avoid any samba issue? sorry, not a windows pro.

Bought one, significantly cheaper than any other 2 bay NAS and pretty sure it can have OpenWRT or anything else installed on it as well. I liked the fact that it is supposedly "green" and will be a cost effective replacement for a monstrosity of a tower case I currently have just for a file server. Yes i could buy a portable USB hard drive and connect to my router as well, but this device i can hide away somewhere else.

  • what are actual transfer speeds like on it?
