Prob not best time to buy iphone 11…

    • Agreed - I'm going to wait out until the iPhone 12, but just in case people needed a new phone in the next few weeks it's a pretty decent price.

    • Will they really drop that much once iPhone12 comes out?

      • +4

        They’ll be replaced with a newer phone…

        • Wont there be old stock to get rid of?

      • +1

No. They just stop making them.

Like Xbox X this week…. Companies aren't stupid.

  • Aren’t these grey models?

    • +5

Yes, despite the AU BS in their website

    • What's the difference between au and grey? Other than warranty?

      • +4

If it's a Japanese model, you can never turn off the camera shutter sound.

        • +3

That’s a deal breaker for spying on my ex

@bloom: You going to hide in the cupboard with the camera rolling while her lover comes over?

Remember to upload it to the hub!

        • Looks to be exactly this

****The shutter sound of iPhone 11 A2221 version can not be turned off.

      • So, if you received the device and noticed there’s no FaceTime app available/found in it, that’ll be a phone from the Middle Eastern countries. UAE, Qatar and Oman among others have banned FaceTime

  • Is the site legit? Can anyone share buying experience thanks?

I’d avoid as the Apple warranty doesn’t cover Australia since it doesn’t appear to be local stock.

      • Isn't Apple warranty Global?

        • Nope, if it’s US stock for example the warranty won’t apply in Australia.

          • @WoodYouLikeSomeCash: I understand normal "limited" warranties. I believe Apple is unique. I've had an Australian iPhone replaced under warranty in Hong Kong.

@dantione: I think you get standard 1 year warranty with grey imports but Australian Consumer Law doesn’t apply

      • Edit: nope I’m wrong - because these are parallel imports to authorised Australian retailers, offering local warranty support is up to Apple. You have recourse with the retailer but difficult if they’re overseas.

Normally products sold online by Australian-based retailers have the consumer guarantee but this company is importing to identical domestic products, which is where the problems arises.

        Wrong part:
This is not true. Australian Consumer Law covers all goods sold into Australia for minimum 12 months, and warranty is the joint responsibility of both the retailer and manufacturer. Apple’s factory warranty definitely applies and so does the retailer’s.

        • To be clear:

Australian Consumer Law covers all goods sold into Australia for minimum 12 months,

          ACL doesn’t specify specific period.

warranty is the joint responsibility of both the retailer and manufacturer.

ACL applies solely to retailer, not vendor; and, vendor isn’t mandated to provide any warranty.

    • Yes i have bought twice from them. Super impressed with dispatch/postage times actually!

    • Bought from them on January for iPhone 11 purple $1030, about 1-1.5 weeks shipment

$130 extra at JB gets you local warranty and GST if you can claim the ITCs.

Buy from TD on the basis you have no warranty from them, and limited warranty from Apple Australia.

And one day someone is going to report a TD parcel was intercepted by customs, and 10% GST slapped on it.

  • I've bought from her before no problems, someone from my work ordered a very popular item and had to wait 1 month and I think they were overwhelmed in terms of customers/service

  • Pretty sure TobyDeals isn’t Aus stock? So grey import/international model that won’t be covered under Apple warranty?

    • Yep. No warranty for imports. Though as below, unsure if Apple is unique?

  • +1

Pretty sure Apple has global warranty. I’d be more worried about consumer law and as another poster said, getting GST slapped on.

    • I had an Australian iPhone replaced in HK under warranty whilst on holiday 🤷‍♂️

      • Maybe it's if you purchased it in your local country you can repair anywhere?

  • Where are the deals on iPhone SE 2020?

    Officeworks price match?

    • F

    • +4

No. Unless you get a less than intelligent staff member

  • +4

For 130$ I would buy in jb

    • Use discounted gift card to pay

  • +7

$1188 @ Mobileciti 5% price beat at officeworks comes to $1128.60 = $63.60 extra for local stock

if you can price beat Kogan at OW will come to $1091.55 + shipping

    • Kogan’s grey imports tho, OW won’t price match

      • yeah thought so, sometimes worth a try get the right rep at ow, overall wouldn’t buy at these prices would wait for the 12

    • Buying an Australia model will give you the (at least) two year Consumer Guarantee.

    • $1149 at costco. If OW price beat them down the 1091

  • Beware ****The shutter sound of iPhone 11 A2221 version can not be turned off. was highlighted on the description plus grey import not covered by Apple Aus warranty. So make your own decision carefully.

  • In my view, it's not bad idea to contract 24 months for Iphone which holds the resell value pretty well. Although I am not an Iphone lover but I have to agree that the second hand iphone sells much higher price than the rest of phones.

  • Friend bought Ip11 128 only 960$ in chn, wat name tapao? post ems cost 85$ plus tax, still good price.
