Beans have been tracking at $5.90 and $6.90 last few weeks at Colesworth. They are almost never $14 kg, so this deal is overstating the bargain of what is now peak season produce.

  • +1

Woolworths online is $5.90 / kg in Qld Metro stores

  • Cheaper at local f&v store

    Thanks OP. Bought 2

Great for those who missed out on the 12tb Hard drive deal yesterday.

    Thanks OP.

  • Victorians in lock down be like this is exciting

    • More like in fear of crowds trying to rub shoulders with you to get to the beans.

  • +2

+1 for the description of an otherwise mundane product. Don't care about the price. It's seen to be as low as $1.70 where I live.

  • I find it hilarious that the item name and description have flown under the radar and it's business as usual in the comments.

    **"Beans Round"?

"Long, thin, green, crisp pod with small round smooth seeds inside"?**

I'd +1 this deal even if it was $29/kg

    • Gah, where's my markdown? The ozb overlords are punishing me for my last sentence.

  • Perfect for eating in the movie theatres when they open up again

    • Cinemas opened… on June 5 near me.
Maybe just not where you are.

  • Used to get paid $1 a kilo to pick beans. Not a lot of markup there.

    Lubya bi zaat

Finely dice an onion (one medium brown onion per 1kg)
The cook in a vegetable oil / margarine until yellow and transparent, don't allow it to brown,
Add the beans which have been snapped to about 5cm pieces, edges removed and the snapped pieces washed
add salt and mixed spice to taste
Cook for 2 - 4 hours on low heat checking and stirring regularly until they soften
Serve with a garden salad of tomato, cucumber, lettuce, mint, parsley, lemon juice and olive oil.

    Lubya bi baad
Make the above, then prior to serving, place in an oiled frypan and break one egg for each 75g of lubya in the frypan, over low heat and after adding salt + mixed spice to taste, mix the lubya and eggs until the eggs are to your liking, serve with the salad above
