Don't mean to poo poo your deal but the Sony A7III has been way cheaper in the past. See here.

This was prior to COVID-19, supply chains around the world are a bit screwed so I'm not sure we'll see it going back to those prices anytime soon.

  • Any good 75/85 inch TV deals?

Watch out for Sony Australia online store - I had a terrible experience dealing with them. Using big organisation Dark Patterns to make it excruciating to deal with support.

I required about 15 interactions with them to refund a TV that was obviously defective OOB. They wasted time at every step, and were downright deceptive, I had to fight for over 3 months to get my refund. They said they would send it but never did, they asked me many times if I want a replacement instead of refund as per the terms, while continuing to stuff around. Can't believe a store with a brand I used to respect did that kind of crap here in Australia.

      It's every company now

I've had to get controller placed at eb and that was a nightmare
Samsung fridge and a Samsung tablet and it's also been excruciating.

Are they hoping you'll just go "ah well. That one doesn't work. May I please buy another?! "

      • Is there any reason why so many companies behave like this at the moment? I cannot link this to the covid.

I can only assume that the rich know the apocalypse is coming and are trying to hoard enough money for the underground bunkers

Also because we live in the cult era, where big companies seem to have devoted worshippers who see they can do no wrong. Oh and we're all addicted and they know it . So there is no incentive to help really.

You tell me why the manager of eb games chatswood wants to just come up with a bunch of lies?

        • Companies main purpose is to maximise profits. As a result they want to avoid as many returns as possible as logistics would then take a hit, in return they try to offshore their customer support which is much cheaper than local and give them a script to run by.
They probably also think consumers are "stupid" and majority of faults are due to "user error".
Now I personally luckily never have had issues buying products online so havent had to deal with customer support on troubleshooting or returns but i can imagine the frustration.

  • The listing is a bit misleading it is a $400 Gift Card not cashback unless the Gift Card is a Visa or Mastercard. And is the gift card only good for Sony store?

    • +1

Its an EFTPOS gift card. Can use it anywhere

    • +1

It is a choice of prepaid MasterCard or eftpos card - obv Mastercard can be used at more places however neither option gives you cash in hand (hence why it is a gift card promotion not cash back promotion)

    • Thanks for clarifying.
If you request for a price match, can you still claim the cashback from Cashrewards?

      • +1

Yes you can, I got them to price match on a lens and i have received confirmation on cashback amount (8%)

      • Cheers, I'm in.

  • Is it online only ? Or can it used in Official Sony store like Parramatta ? Cuz price match means they will send a invoice separately ( that's my assumption) and how do you prove it to cash rewards ?

    • Just saw your post, I'm wondering about the cashrewards cashback, too.

      • As far as I know, its online only. Perhaps a cashrewards rep could clarify…

    • +1

When you send a price match request and its approved. The item will show up in your cart. You'll have to sign up for price matching I think. I have been a long time member so I signed in anyway to get the pricematch done

      • So use cash rewards link when requesting for price match ? Or when the item is in the cart ?
