  • How do these compare to Klipsch reference bookshelf?

    • The Klipsch is a brighter sounding speaker, while the Q Acoustics are more natural sounding.
Really depends on what you are after… The amplifier and source will also affect the sound.

  • +1

Just go the Klipshs, looks alone the reference series are amazing.

I own this and the Voll B50. While this does look and sound better, I dont think it is worth ~$400 more. Also B50 punches deeper bass and extend lower into 55Hz

    • +3

If you are running with a subwoofer you'd want to cut off the frequency response at around 80Hz and send anything below this to your subwoofer.
I'm confident these will easily output perform the Voll B50 on overall sound quality.

  • +1

I bought the Klipsch-rp-160m and the wireless transmitter. Underwhelming.

  • +2

    I love my Q Acoustics.

    • We've been massive fans of them as well since the 2000i Series. They've always offered great performance and value for money.

    • Me also, love my floorstanding 3050i are great sounding and great value and I run them off a 10 watt SET tube amp and sound great.

  • I have a pair of 3020 bookshelves from a deal on OzBargain (and I love them). I would love to buy a pair of matching floorstanding speakers, but can't justify the purchase until the current prices drop a bit lower.

    • Reach out on our website and have a chat. We'll see what we can do for you.

Listening to my 2020i's now. Probably the best purchase I've ever made.

    • Was one of the speakers which initially had as hooked on Q Acoustics.
Good to see you love them as well.

  • What would you recommend for a lounge room 5m x 4m? Are 3050i fronts and 3020i rears and QB12 overkill? That was my original plan.

If that's overkill, what about 3020i fronts on stands, with 3010i rears and a 3060s sub?

    • I am running these with 3050i floor standers with an SVS SB-1000 sub on a yamaha rx-v amp in a similar sized space, and it is a fantastic setup. I have never thought of upgrading in the last 2 years.

    • Definitely not overkill. That would be a great package and the QB12 is highly recommended.
3050i fronts and 3020i rears and QB12 overkill <— Just remember best to have the 3090Ci Centre as well.

Works out cheaper to buy them in the package deal we also have on sale.

      - Reach out to us after you place the order and we'll upgrade the 3010i rears in that package to the 3020i model for you.

      • +1

Sweet, thanks for that. I'll be moving to my new house later this year, will hit you up then to see what's on offer!

  • +1

Fantastic speakers. Go really well with the 3050i & SVS sub.
Remember picking them up for just over $300 in 2018 and everyone seems to be selling it for $499. So, I won't call it a bargain.

    • +1

That would have been the original 3020 model which was being sold off cheaply in 2018, The upgraded 3020i model has never been sold for anywhere near that price.

    • +1

Also all the $499 marketplace offers are likely to be ours - eBay, Catch, MyDeal and Amazon.

  • +1

That’s a good price. I bought 3010i in December last year for $499. This is a good price for 3020i.

  • Good price. You can sometimes get kef q150 for around 600 on Amazon, based on reviews it's a step above

    • +1

I would pick Q Acoustics 3020i over KEF q150 any day. For a smaller space I would also pick 3010i over q150.

      • Just because you would doesn't mean anything… Care to elaborate why you would choose the 3020i over the Q150 despite mlburnian having read reviews that suggest otherwise?

        • Because I have heard the speakers. KEF Q150 change the sound of instruments.

      • Sound is subjective, but most people including just about any professional review puts q150 in a class above

  • +2

it seems that Rio.com.au price is much cheaper than the one posted by OP. For example:

    Acoustics 3020i Speaker Package

    3050i 5.1ch Speaker Package

I miss the last sale from Rio here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500272

  • Only 6 pairs in black and 2 pairs in white left now.
So if you are thinking about buying a pair, don't hesitate or you might miss out.
