@mudguppy1: Yeah but I <3 U.
@Munki: Well I love you 3000 kiddo
It is the deal posting guidelines that need to add onto all Amazon AU post.
Don’t think it actually is. Only guideline is to add + shipping if it’s required, but since this price exceeds free postage amount it isn’t required.
@SnoozeAndLose That's not the case. From Amazon AU posting block:
If your deal is fulfilled by Amazon (AU) AND the item costs less than $39, please add '+ Delivery ($0 with Prime/ $39 Spend)' or similar after the item cost.
Sweet price! This'll do nicely for an extra game drive.
Nice find. I had $23 Amazon coupon from a refund..
So came up to $62.
nice
price
Thanks! Got one.
I have one of these and and a Samsung Evo 860.
Can't tell the difference in real life scenarios. Hasn't missed a beat.
I use it as my Steam/Tarkov drive.
Really? I have the same pair, If I open a folder with over about 5k objects, its flawless on the Samsung.
To open a similar folder on the crucial, has a delay similar to a mechanical drive spinning up.
Its perfectly usable. But im not impressed.
EDITED…. Because I don't think I have any folders with that much stuff in them 😂
Yea he said real life scenarios.. You don't need to store your porn in a folder anymore. Stream it lol
I was about to purchase it but this comment changed my mind, the samsung evo 860 was this price last month after cashback.
I don't believe what @MasterScythe has said is possible unless the Crucial drive has degraded more than the Samsung. Feel free to disprove my belief. And may I ask which particular models?
@Void: Can I ask your firmware revision and your sata chipset?
My job and education involves enterprise data storage, and I simply cannot get rid of this "wakeup" delay when accessing a folder with over 5k items.
There is no antivirus scanning, and I've tried ZFS, NTFS, ExFat, and BTRFS, so I dont think its a format issue
Obviously. Windows, Linux and BSD all tested.
Ive also tried both 4k and 128byte clusters, same performance.
Once its "awake" its perfect, but I cant nut out this delay.
@MasterScythe: There's probably something wrong with the AHCI Link Power Management, and it's putting the drive to sleep too often. In Windows this can be resolved by enabling the power plan option in command prompt and selecting whichever works best, I'm not sure about other OSes. I'm sure if others observed this they'd tell us though. I don't have an MX500, but from using even some bottom of the barrel DRAMless SSDs I have never experienced the wakeup delay.
don't listen to masterscythe. i have bought heaps of these for my business and they're flawless.

Prefer the $78 480gb one from cucial
For an extra $8 you'd rather get this for DRAM and an extra 20gb.
That's a BX500. Slower and 20gb less storage. This is definitely worth the extra $8.
Edit - beat me to it :)
Agree, BX500 is their cheaper model, definitely go for this one
Thanks OP… had this one sitting in my "shopping list" for a while.
Can anyone recommend a good option for SATA & Power Cables?
Those come with your motherboard and power supply.
My motherboard didn't come with enough SATA cables lol
Came with 4 cables but the board supports 6 sata devices.
Any cheap SATA data cable from like CPL will do, don't really need to overspend as long as it's SATA III since they don't deliver power.
Just bought one with 5% cashback from shopback.
Thanks

My brother was going to be charged $7.99 for delivery - so we did it on my Prime account (free delivery). Did he accidentally pick expedited delivery or something? Or is it not eligible for free delivery because it's not Amazon AU as the seller? Or was he being discriminated against because he's a Western Australian?
As a Victorian I've become very sensitive to state-based discrimination since midnight last Tuesday.
I think he might have accidentally selected expedited shipping.
500GB 860 EVO for $99.95 with $19 cashback, works out to be $80 + $7.81 shipping, so pretty much the same price. https://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/117620
shows $109 before cashback?
lol they legit just raised the price

Does MSY price match??
Delicious
Will this fit MacBook Pro 2012?
Yes.
And it’s goneeee. Missed it :(
Considering I bought the 256gig version last month for $90 this a great price.
Great drive too.
Seeing $102.20, has it expired?
Looks like. I had added it in my cart 30 minutes ago but when I checked few minutes ago it got moved out of the cart and price changed to $102.20
For those who just missed out this deal, Kogan has the same price with free shipping. Cashrewards eligible as well.

Good Find!
Sold Out already… that was quick.
Anyone tried connecting one of these to a PS4 with a SATA to USB 3.0 adapter? Got another MX500 to clone my boot drive to use in my old computer back at home one day, but figured I’d use it for extra (and fast) PS4 storage in the meantime.
4 available at $87 from Online Centre (FBA) for anyone who missed this deal: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/offer-listing/B0786QNS9B/ref=dp…
