Not much information on Aldi site ….
- HDMI output
- Blu-Ray playback (1080p/1080i/720p)
- Full HD 1080/24p output
- USB interface
- Ethernet port
- Profile 2.0 (BD Live)
Not much information on Aldi site ….
Includes HDMI cable too.
Harvey Norman would probably charge more than this price, just for the HDMI cable.
the big question for me is will 1080p mkv files play from the usb port?
And questions as asked on Whirlpool and Austech forums.
Please let it be bluray multiregion
probably like tevion or bauhn aldi dvd/blu-ray it will be region free out of the box.
For 79 it's worth the gamble, playback of mkv via USB is more likely
This unit was not region free - locked into our region. I was disappointed - I took it back to Aldi a few days later and got a full refund.
Remember that Aldi have a 60 return policy for change of mind.
So someone can answer the questions after they buy it.
…60 day…
It's true, 60 days.
Though the staff will give you bad attitude, and they have no return or information counter so you have to barge in at a register and the customers will look daggers at you for delaying their checkout while Aldi makes you fill in a return form.
Been there, done that!
I have no doubt this hassle is deliberate to discourage returns. It's all right if you've got a thick skin, but I've learnt to think very carefully if I really need a bargain Aldi item.
Does it play normal dvds too or only bluray? Does it have the hi def set top box included i got the normal one last week for 69
Plays DVDs and Blu-Rays. Has no digital tuner in it.
Thank you for answering that was very nice
I always find cheap players have sucky remotes (bad button layout etc) everyone always seems to forget that..
that's why you buy a cheap Logitech harmony at the same time
It has a LAN Input..:D Hopefully it can stream via home network
On cheaper model it purely for bdlive and key updates
If only it was 3D. Tempting though.
aren't all BD players 3D capable?
Tempting :D
What's LAN port? For what
LAN port allows you to connect to the internet (with an ethernet cable). It is to give you the illusion that this will have firmware updates ;)
An internet connection is actually required of Bluray profile 2. It allows the viewing of more content and features.
Anyone know if this one is region free?
out of stock already. LOL
Hi Guys,
Whats the difference between bluray multiregion and region free.
multiregion allows for multiple regions(but maybe not all regions)
region free allows for all regions.
multiregion may mean region free but it could mean, for example, only regions 1,3,4.
Soooo… do we know what its region details are yet?
According to the whirlpool thread posted at the start of these comments, it is region locked for both DVD and bluray.
bummer
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1793038 has a thread on it. =)
