Best 65" 4K TV Under $1000?

Looking to upgrade my TV to a 4K model prepared for next-gen PS5 and so forth, but wanting something ideally under $1000.

Not all that flashy with specs and tech, I'm a pretty basic layman, just want something reliable that will work and be suitable for the next good few years with modern tech.

There's one at ALDI next week that my partner was considering or one of KOGANs models, but wanted to know what the feedback was around those or any other good suggestions under the four figure mark ideally.

    $1000 gets you a basic midrange TV that isn't going to be able to utilise the PS5's full capability. You may want to wait till nearer end of the year for the new models to come out and push older ones cheaper.

    hisense 65R7 paid $1000 a few weeks ago.. but you will need to wait for another sale to get it at that price

      Pre-corona there was a deal for $820 + delivery. Hopefully you will be able to get it around that one day.

    Make sure you do your research on input lag. You don't want a tv with horrible input lag for gaming.
    Ideally you'd get something with hdmi 2.1 but that's well above your price range for now. Lookup hdmi 2.1 and PS5 to see if you'd miss the added features. If you would, hold off and see how the tv market plays out over the next year or two.

      Seconding this.

      I have done some research and only the LG C9, CX and a Sony OLED currently have HDMI 2.1, so the ability to get 120Hz from PS5 to TV is currently limited to a very small subset of TVs (and so I am told no computer monitors).

      If you can wait, better to do so until a few more brands get on board with the 2.1 standard.

    TCL convert here, would get another one any day of the week. I have a 2 year old C2US now and it performs just as well as any other tv coming our for $1,000, albeit if i had it again i'd fork out $2k for an OLED

    Save your pennies and get a CX 55” OLED later this year. There should be specials around Oct and November (but not necessarily on Black Friday). You’ll want OLED and decent HDR for the best visual experience.
