That comes to less than 21c per battery. These batteries are surprisingly good as they last very well.

Cheers OP, always grab one of each of these when they're on sale. Top up the never ending battery usage my kids generate :(

      rechargeables?

      • +5

I have a few eneloops around the place but save them for my electronics really. Some of the kids toys could end up anywhere so who knows where my eneloops could end up lol.

These have decent life so happy to stock up.

Unfortunately some of my kids' toys do not function properly with rechargeables (both with Varta brand and IKEA ones)

    • you have robokids?

    Thanks OP. Order placed.

Thanks OP down to my last 2 batteries from a previous SCA deal…

  • Are they good?

    • +1

I think they are pretty good

If you can't get these at your nearby SCA, then next best would be Aldi 50 packs of the AA or AAA for $14.99 coming up on 18 July special buys.

    • Aren't those Aldi ones Carbon Zinc?

  • Thanks, from personal experience these aren't great, unlike what others are reporting. Have had a couple of duds in the past.. Still good for the price though

  • If you choose Click & Collect, what's the longest they can hold your items for?

    • +2

Not very long as they usually are fully discharged by the time they leave the store.

      • ^lol

they can hold c&c orders for 7 working days.

  • Thanks. Now I need some cheap 9V alkaline batteries for my smoke detectors.

  • anyone knows whats the expiry on these?

  • Upvoted too soon :/

    “Heavy Duty” Arggg… DOWNVOTE!
“Alkaline”, oh that’s a upvote from me!

    • I know, it's great for my new diet

    I don't recommend these. I was disapointed
I bought 2 packs a while back on sale too.
They don't last very long and eventhough they cheap , I don't think they last even 50% of the Varta Bunnnings one or Aldi Akaline for remote control toys.

The Aldi Akaline 50 pack is my goto , once a year sale.
If really desperate, I bought Bunnings Varta at full RRP $10 for 24 batteries.

    Cries in environment.

  • My Go-To batteries are ONLY ever Energisers when Colesworths have them at 50% off.

For how long they last in use I'm positive (well, I've convinced myself) that the cost:energy ratio of these is well ahead of any others.

FWIW, The 'Copper top' batteries are banned in this house, I've found a significant percentage of these leak, last week I was at FIL's place and he said his LED torch wasn't working, sure enough leaking 'copper tops'.

I learnt that lesson back when Dick Smith had stores and sold alkaline batteries. Would leak within 1 year. Many expensive devices ruined, though they did replace my Brother labeller once. I only buy Energisers when on sale for piece of mind.

How do you tell which is copper top battery?

      • +1

It's a marketing name for Duracell.

The store called me to say my order couldn't be fulfilled (C&C) but they have arranged for 2 other stores to send the batteries to my home address with no charges. Great stuff!!
