        Yay for racism.

Edit: To be fair though, he's not just racist against Chinese, he's also racist against Indians, so it's all fine, right?

cheap made in china quality products

Isn't racism. I know getting offended on behalf of others is trendy, but this is a bit silly.

@[Deactivated]: Read his other comments, there's a pattern.

I'm not offended, I just think racists are not people that you should give a voice to.

It's also factually incorrect, or are you saying that iPhones are poorly made products as well, for example?

Looks cool but I'd be a bit nervous about Wifi security..

Especially on a cloud based provider….

    • do not worry, we alsom have zigbee version

        Where the zigbee version at?

  • +1

Knowing it is not a popular brand to me, but got any certificate about this security lock like testing? Wonder if this e-lock would open itself somehow as I watched news regarding this issue in China, and lab-tested it most of these are failed.

    • Lmfao it's a vault. Once you push the handle down it retracts 10 pins around the 3 sides and open or then fancy ones where it disappears into the floor

The pictures are riddles with spelling errors and inconsistencies. Makes me wary of buying, no info about the batteries either.

Not sure what you're talking about.. it's "suit for hotal"

      • that's a security feature!

  • Be good to get some real world feedback on these. I've looked at these Tuya based locks for a while and have already purchased about 15 tuya ecosystem based devices that are easy (good thing being generic).

I had a Samsung version (fingerprint+keypad) years ago which was great, but at a premium. The Samsung equiv with wifi smart features still sits around $650ish, the non cloud connected ones are about $300 which is around what I paid for mine.

Anyone have one of these Tuya locks?

  • Yes I'd like thoughts too. I want one for the internal garage door.

I think for an internal garage door it should be fine - given that most internal garage doors don't have locks anyway. Would hesitate for an external facing door though - constant exposure to weather might be an issue with no mention of water/dust resistance etc. If you are paranoid about using the Tuya cloud, you could always use a temporary wifi hotspot (eg your mobile) to configure it, set passwords etc, and then it should work offline. Just need to fire up the mobile hot spot again if you need to add/remove users or change passcodes. Only other minor thing is there is no mention of left or right hand doors - but there is a photo of the door handle in two directions, so maybe prior to install you can manually flip the handle to suit which ever way the door opens.

Looks very similar to the Kogan one that I have. I'd be surprised if the internals weren't identical.

In my opinion, it's fine, but not great. The fingerprint sensor struggles reading my prints 50% of the times, but so does my mobile phone (under display reader, which isn't great), so it could just be me.
Wifi range it terrible. You'll more than likely need to set up a repeater closeby. Plus the wifi capability isn't that great. You can't use it to unlock the door. You can only use it to generate a key to unlock the door, which is a little bit annoying.

Pass codes need to be six digits (maybe longer is possible, not sure) which makes it slower than using a key.

Biggest issue I had though is that the handle is quite long. So I couldn't close my screen door anymore after installing it.

Wouldn't recommend unless you're an enthusiast.

    • Any pros and cons? Easy to fit?

      • I paid a locksmith $140 to fit. Pros, cheap for a smart lock, cons: programming wasn't in english as it's all done from the device and not app, took my time but got it in the end
