  • Nice!

  • Even better if you are able to buy it with Amex Edge to get 3+2 MR points on every dollar spent!

    • +1

Oh, Gift card purchases from WW or Coles will still count as a supermarket category transaction?

      • +4

Yes; Amex can't tell what you buy from Woolies or Coles

  • Does "bonus points can be collected only once per account" mean you can only effectively buy one of these?

    • Yes, because there aren't multiple card types on offer

    • +1

Sometimes these offers are not set up correctly which allows multiple bonuses, but you are taking a huge risk. If you need more cards, just grab some new temp paper cards at the checkout.

      • +1

Will temp cards get the points? And I'm afraid you'll need to activate temp cards prior using points on it

    • A good Ozbargainer should have multiple Flybuys accounts anyway to make sure they get the best bonus deals. This might be a good time to sign up a partner or dog and get started.

      • Isn't flybuys account linked to house address ?

        • -1

          And?

          • @bigspike: Sorry, I meant Can i have different flybuys accounts for same house address ?
I always thought that flybuys account is linked to home address and you can't have mutiple flybuys account for same house address

            • +4

@ChipsChicky: It isn't linked to home address. (You can have different flat-share persons living in the same house.)

It's linked to email address & mobile phone number.

The $5 Aldi sims can be a very good investment. ;-)

    • +1

Why the hell are some people getting their panties in a twist & negging the comments about multi Flybuys accounts ?

Do they own Coles shares or something ?

      • +1

they don't want their dogs to open flybuys accounts and keep wandering in coles šŸ¤

I like this cause Woolies $100 visa gift card promo is only 1000 points when it used to be 2000.

  • Love these gift cards for stacking, thanks for the post OP

  • Can someone explain how does the $5 purchase fee work? Is it deducted from the total amount or paid on top of the $100?

    • +2

No you pay a total of $105 for the mastercard but get $100 value.

      • yep says that on the card packaging too (i saw instore),
and on scrshot fine print "$5 purchase fee will apply in addition.

    • +1

Does the $5 purchase fee apply to one transaction, of possibly multiple gift cards?

      • +2

        No, it's $5 per card.

  • -2

With Coles Giftcards can no longer be used for these purchases, the effective discount turns out to be 4.67% ($5/$105)..

    • +4

I've always bought these with coles GC..the last purchase was as recent as couple of weeks ago..

      • Will try this again at my local Coles. The self-checkout folks always insist that I cannot pay for a Gift Card through a Gift Card.

        • +2

they don't need to know how you pay, if the machine lets you pay then why not..make sure the balance on GC is atleast 105..can't do split GC's..

          • +1

@maverick1: Verified - just tried paying this with my Wish GC and it works. Bought an additional 1/2 priced oatsmilk just in case the self-pay counter staff got too zealous on me paying for a sole giftcard item with another giftcard.

            • @FlindersStud: Wish GC works in Coles???

This deal has not started yet…or you paid for Ultimate cards.

              • +1

@Neoika: I meant Coles eGiftcard. My bad, have been up the entire night yesterday to submit by deadline before rushing out to purchase today. :s

                • +1

@FlindersStud: OMG please read T&C guys, I believe this promotion starts only on 8th July, I have purchased the card 2 days too early :(

            • @FlindersStud: When you pay at self checkout which payment type do you select? Card or giftcard? Also do you have to type in the card number and PIN?

              • +1

@apple0604: I select giftcard, and I used the barcode to scan before keying the PIN.

                • @FlindersStud: Ok thanks. Never used a Coles egiftcard before. Not quite the same as woolies ones.

        • you can buy a gift card with a gift card as long as it's the whole amount on the one card i.e. no split payments.

    • +1

Discounted Coles gift cards are extremely rare

      • Two options I am aware of are MLC rewards or AGL Rewards (if you have an account with them)

        • Good Guys concierge also offer them at 4% off. (Used to be 5%, but they reduced it from 1 July 2020.)

      • RACQ gives 2.5% discount but can only buy $100 per month

      • -2

Suncorp and AGL give 5% discount.

        • +3

I donā€™t see them on Suncorp for awhile now.

        • +2

          AGL is now 4% only.

          • +1

            @bargainbro: And 1% cc fee?

          • +2

@bargainbro: I just bought 500 from AGL today a few hours ago, still 5% off despite it shows 4%. Guess IT forgot to change something.

            • @truetypezk: Did you pay by bank transfer or credit card? The cart total shows $480 for me, did you ended up getting charged less? Or maybe they have fixed it now.

              • @magster: Bank transfer, the email asked me to send them $475. Not much difference anyway.

              • +1

@magster: Yes looks like this has been fixed. The cart as well as email shows 4% šŸ˜©

    • +1

How about the other way around? Use this master card to purchase Coleworths gift cards?

      • It's possibly do-able.

I did use a couple to buy discounted Woolies gift cards from SunCorp rewards, and it works.

        • Different from my story. Suncorp didn't accept cole prepaid mastercard when I tried. When did you do this?

          • @1000060: You can not use prepaid debit cards there for nearly 2 years. Change occurred around Sep 2018.

All cards need to be verified since then.

  • missed out on this and vanilla visa last time as sold out so I will be ready this time

    • -1

will be worth 5 entries too 10k draw

  • If you have Zip account and are on their current $50 promo then you can buy Coles egift card and be eligible for the spend requirements.

  • Does this work for bonus points offers such as spend $50 for 4 weeks and get 10000 points? Asking because the last time I bought this it unexpectedly gave me 4c off fuel voucher so there might be a possibility?

    • +3

Gift cards that are $30+ will get you the 4 cent voucher, however aren't eligible for bonus point offers unless advertised in the catalogue

    • Didnā€™t count, tried it before when they print ā€œu succesfully completed week 2ā€ or so on the receipt. No message. So I have to do real groceries shopping and got the message

      • Right mine didn't work either

  • -1

The required purchase Fee baffles me :(

  • Bought 8am Wednesday but no points posted yet.

    • +1

I didnā€™t buy any gift cards, but when you posted your comment last night, I checked my account and my standard points hadnā€™t shown up. Theyā€™re now showing up, so hopefully thatā€™s also the case for you?

      • +1

Yes they are there now. Must be some delays yesterday.

        • +1

          Appeared after midnight, before 1am.

    • -1

      what is the turnaround?

  • My Coles egiftcard has a balance of $100. Coles MC purchase amount is $105. Does anyone know or has tried to pay $5 in cash before selecting giftcard payment method to pay for the remaining $100?

    • I do not know the answer but I have done this at a manned check out. Some stores/staff will allow it and the system does not stop it. Pick a junior who does not know better or does not care.

      • Thanks. If it works at manned checkout it shall work at self checkout. Feel a bit guilty to pay for giftcard with egiftcard. šŸ˜€

      • Do you know how often they run this promotion? 2000 bonus point for $100 Coles MC.

        • +1

Last time was one month ago.

        • It is much oftener this year, but not like this last year. Another similar one is Vanilla VISA.

It is better to have more flybuys.

          • @Neoika: Never bought Vanilla VISA. Only bought Coles MC giftcard last month and this month.
