              @abc: 8x40 is lighter with higher magnification and 7x50 supposedly give better image quality but bulkier

              @abc: 8 is the magnification (8x) which is 1x greater than 7x. 40mm is the diameter of the lens at the large end. 50mm lets in more light than 40mm; you also get a view that is wider. 7x50 will show you a larger scene and will be more effective in low light, but at slightly less magnification than 8x40. The 7x50 will also be physically larger.

    Went to sign up to Club Catch trial but it made be pay via credit card and now OOS.

    Likely to be price error? Quick google shows it's $99 (RRP$124) besides that Amazon listing.
