Good question.
The standard taste quite mild with little bit of vinegary taste. Siracha would not be bad addition to the sauce.
The standard taste of Tabasco? Or this sauce?
Was thinking the same ( also confused ), good question.
I thought it was a bit too salty.
Given its size 256g, they should consider making $3 as their regular price because the real thing only cost RRP $5.5 with 482g. For $3, it's not a bargain IMO.
740mL bottle is even cheaper.
i was making a point of their RRP $6 is more expensive than the original Sriracha with twice more of the content. :)
And according to the founder of Huy Fong Sriracha, he has never raised the price and because of this, the fake/immitated copies never really gain much of traction in market share.
I was agreeing with you; I meant that the 740mL Huy Fong for $7.50 is cheaper than the 482g bottle.
@coxymla: Yep, understood :)
If you like Tabasco, give Cholula a try. You won't regret it.
I regretted it. I'm not into sauces with added thickeners. Didn't love the flavour either.
The 'stabiliser' is xanthan gum though, there's nothing wrong with that is there?
I much prefer the flavour of Cholula to Tabasco. I don't know about this Tabasco Sriracha though, I like normal Sriracha.
I didn't buy the Sriracha because it's also thickened.
Nothing wrong with xanthan gum. I just don't like thickened hot sauces. Frank's and original Tabasco got it right.
@jazoom: Yeah Frank's is good.
Is it a decent price anywhere though? We got a couple of large bottles for about $7 at Costco over 12 months ago. It's significantly more than that anywhere else I have seen it and our last bottle is very low.
3 bucks - fair shake of the sauce bottle Woolies.
Anyone have any comments on the taste? Is it like a more vinegary version or Siracha?
