      • You mean "No" right?
The guy commented at the end "No video to nas on the doorbell"
People there mentioned RTSP will only be available for the Eufy cam.
        Not the doorbell.
May be some of the oz-bargainers here can confirm.
I also wish they have the RTSP option. Would love to link that to my synology.

  • Now says awaiting stock, do they generally still ship or do they hold onto payment until stock arrives?

    • FYI https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/product-availability

      Awaiting stock
When a product is marked as 'Awaiting stock' it means that the item is currently available to order but is not available for immediate delivery, and that new replenishment stock is already on the way from our supplier. Expected delivery times incorporating the supplier lead time will be quoted in the estimated delivery time provided in checkout.

  • Amazon has price matched. See here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/547168

  • Do these act the same as the ring through alexa - I. E. Announce someone at the front door?

    • They have the ability to use Alexa devices as a doorbell

  • I actually bought this for $349…. so I went back and JB Hifi very kindly refunded me the price difference.

There was a little bit of an issue with server about a day after I installed it, after a huge complaint online it is back to normal and no issues since then.

This can also be hard-wired as well, so a handy option for those who got existing wiring. I got mine hard wired by an electrician.

I am quite happy with this doorbell which also functions as a security camera at the front door, and it captures the person's face as well. There does not seem to be any way where the camera can recognise myself so it still send notifications when I am out and about in the front part of the property. There is probably going to be some kind of AI dongle that will be able to do this in the future however.

    • I’m hoping for either the AI dongle that plugs into the Homebase or the addition of HomeKit with facial recognition.

  • I am wondering if this is better than ring doorbell 2 apart from the subscription with the ring? I upgraded from ring doorbell to doorbell 2, it is ok, however there is a delay in motion recording.

  • Picked one up from my local goodguys price matching JB.

  • A quick comparison for those interested between this and Ring Doorbell 2. Ring doorbell 2 image is more natural and HDR is really good. Eufy highlights are completely blown and overexposed. The Ring doorbell has much wide angle of view than Eufy, I read they both have 160 degrees field of view, but Eufy is nowhere near Ring.

I am disappointed with Eufy, I think I might stick with my Ring despite the yearly subscription.
The youtube reviews should be taken with a grain of salt.

    • I believe that over exposure of background is made in sacrifice of the better exposure of faces. The 2K resolution would also help. There’s also an option in the Eufy setting to turn off WDR which might help with exposure issues. I don’t own a Ring so can’t compare directly, but surely YouTube reviews are not all lies?

  • how are you guys finding the motion sensing on the doorbell? on day one it seemed to work really great - day 2 potentially server side issue but it wasnt picking up movement at all (but able to stream) - day 3 now but theres now a 2-3 second delay between motion and notification on my phone.
