      • Although they stated they would refund all purchases, have they actually actively done this for anyone? … seems like everyone has requested bank/paypal intervention

        • +1

They refunded me via PayPal, I did however message them every day for about 2 weeks..

  • Email message?

How is everyone going with refunds?

    • I cancelled and asked for a refund in July. Still waiting for the money to be returned :(

    Dear all Ozbargain users,

This is an official statement from CGB Solutions

We're outlying the events of this deal and what has happened causing us to halt all operations until this is fixed

    1. The deal was all going us planned, we had all stock organised

    2. Supermem, MSY's supply arm which is in charge of importing MSY's brands like Armaggedon and Gamdias sold us the power supplies and told us that these were in fact 80+ Gold, satisfied we bought 100 on top of stock we already had

    3. The cases for this deal were also coming from supermem as they have the exclusive contracts for Australia. We were organising days after this deal was launched for confirmation of case stock to fulfil orders, supermem then advised us that they would no longer be selling to other retailers and only supplying in house MSY stores affective immediately

    4. We then found alternative cases which was the Deepcool Matrexx 55 4F Mesh and the Antec NX310 to substitute you guys

    5. Biostar factory closes due to covid 19 slowing down the ETA for the cards to turn up

    6. Eventually cards get a confirmed date

    7. Due to stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne we can no longer build all pcs under the one roof causing all parts to be dispatched to alternative locations and slowing down dispatch

    8. DHL delays GPUs and SSDs due to covid19

    9. DHL misses delivery date for the GPUs by a week

    10. Our next shipment of 3600X to fulfil remaining orders gets delayed by a month

    11. We find out that the PSUs aren't true 80+ Gold and this is simply naming from Armaggedon and we have been sold these under false pretence

    12. We have finally organised with Supermem for all PSUs to be taken back by them on the grounds some of them were faulty, which they were

    13. We now have to source over 100 80+ Gold psus ontop of now running out of time to fulfil orders ontop of PSUs being in short supply due to covid19

    14. We agree to start giving out refunds

We're working on fulfilling orders of everyone who wants the unit still or refunding remaining customers, as we have majority of our cashflow in inventory to fulfil this deal we're trying to free up funds as fast as possible to provide refunds to remaining customers

This has led us to closing our doors for the coming future. Manli distribution contracts and Biostar distribution contracts have been handed off elsewhere and we're now solely working on providing all affected customers with their units or refunds.

We're sincerely sorry that we've been struggling to get back to you all regarding this as communication has fallen apart and that we have failed to supply you guys the goods.

We would like to solely thank the Ozbargain community for boosting us into the business we have become as you guys drove a lot of traffic to us and helped us to become a successful company

This downfall is very disappointing for us as a team and again are deeply sorry that we have failed you all

We're working on remeding every outstanding order

    Signing off

      as communication has fallen apart

      A slight understatement.

I do appreciate the response and update. Why couldnt you have done this sooner? If you had kept us updated on whats happening throughout this process i'm sure you wouldnt have had as many chargebacks, paypal claims and google reviews.

If you hadnt tried to defend the PSUs as being 80+ gold when they werent, if you hadnt advertised a "Motherboard with AC wifi" when it only came with a dongle, if you hadnt been hostile and rude to people who messaged you wondering where their computer was, i'm sure you'd have been in a very different position now.

If you'd emailed people and said "sorry DHL has had issues and there will be an additional 1 week delay" or "sorry we had a problem with the PSUs, our supplier mislead us but we're replacing them with genuine 80+ gold PSUs", at least keeping us updated. Meanwhile from our perspective, you took our money, didnt communicate at all, and when you did deliver orders they had incorrect components. All comes across like a scam.

I couldn't agree more on the poor treatment of customers from your part.

You had lots of time to communicate the issues and provide alternative solutions. You chose not to - not your suppliers or the courier. This is simply a list you've put together to justify the results of your inaction.

I find myself still waiting for a response from your company after 3m of placing the order and numerous emails from myself. You last communicated to me almost month ago and I have sent 6 emails since. The fact that I am taking my lunch time to write this should tell you how I feel.

        • I cancelled and asked for a refund in July. Still waiting for the money to be returned :(

You were rude and hostile to people messaging you and all these issues could have been understandable if you posted some updates on this thread as it was happening.

I don't think the 124 up votes as it stands now warns potential future customers sufficiently

I don't have the answer, but someone raised an interesting question of whether they should be banned given their business practices

Although I sympathise with their challenges during the current climate, I do not think there is any excuse to poor (misleading) communication, and especially to not actively refunding money(s) to customers (from what I read, all refunds occurred due to customers claiming it through PayPal, or their bank) .

  • Wondering if everyone has either got their computer or got refunds? I got refunds myself (via PayPal and credit card) but if they have in fact resolved all the outstanding orders and are closing down, there probably is no point re-telling the nightmare I went through…

    • +1

I got the PC same as the others, no contact or anything when I tried to get it resolved. gave up and reported them to ACCC for misleading. I hope they ban him from getting an ABN ever again. If I meet the guy in real life or tries to apply for a job in my sector I’ll make sure he’s unsuccessful.

      • I'm still waiting for a chargeback from my CC company. CGB were suppose to take back their PC and give me a refund. Turns out the Sendle courier they arranged was for a different street name (same street number, suburb, state, postcode). Long story short, I had provided my address to Sendle and they confirmed it was what they had on file even though it wasn't which caused a whole heap of issues. It's been two months since CGB last replied to my emails. I've been wondering whether this was a deliberate mistake by CGB to delay the refund…

        • It may well be…. (see below, which addressed some of the posting issues I had) :

I wasn't going to comment on this CGB nightmare as I thought they were resolving all outstanding orders and they were packing up their business, but it seems this is still ongoing for people.

Same issue as everyone when I ordered that package for $1630 in June except I was one of the first to order so I was one of the first to receive a "dead" computer, after nearly 2 months. Another nearly month delay, I received back the "repaired" computer. It initially worked (and I was happy for a little while….) …. and then … drum roll.

As I was downloading a game, I noticed a huge crack in the side panel. I took a photo, sent an email off to CGB and then proceeded to adjust the external thumbscrews (the panel was already on)… heard 2 zaps in quick succession when I turned the thumbscrew (sounded like an electrical arc) and the computer went dead.

Contacted CGB via FB and they were very rude, even though I was very polite with them - calling me "Champ" and basically said they weren't liable and I have to pay for repair as the computer initially worked and surges aren't covered, even though (as most people who have a computer know) touching any part of the external panel, shouldn't cause an electrical static surge or otherwise. The computer was plugged into a surge protector and the monitor was still working that was also plugged in the same panel so the surge was unlikely to have come from the wall socket side. They were trying to put words in my mouth to weasel out of liability (e.g. something like "you were fiddling with the internals while the computer was on", "you refuse for us to repair so your warranty is void", which were both incorrect - though I wanted a refund at this stage and not a repair).

Took photos before sending back to CGB and noticed from the photos later that they didn't use motherboard standoffs! Sent all this information off (including all my communication with CGB) to my bank and PayPal (I ordered an upgraded / reputable PSU to replace their dodgy ones using my credit card, thus why I had 2 disputes), and both have refunded.

It became apparent that the delays in postage is due to CGB actually not picking up the computer at the pick up point. AusPost actually phoned me (well after I got the refunds) asking why the computer I returned was still sitting with them over a month later. Initially they were using this "we haven't received the computer back" excuse with the first repair with why there was a delay with the repair, even though it would have been sitting with AusPost the whole time and it was just a matter of them picking it up!

So beware: I'm pretty sure they will use the zapped parts of my computer that weren't completely dead into other people's orders.

          • @kf2: Hey at least you received a faulty computer. I cancelled my order before it was built and they "processed" my refund months ago but they never returned my money. What options do I have to get my money back? I paid via credit card.

            • @wasteland-oz: You paid via credit card so go through them to get a refund. Lucky you went through credit card as I believe all offer some buyer protection. When I put forward my case, I also copied and pasted the google reviews as well as this website so they can see a lot of people were having similar difficulties and I also wrote that some components were not as per advertisement. With the lengthy delays, the computer is also not worth what it was worth months ago now too. The fact that they "processed" your refund but no funds have been received will also make a strong case for you and you should get it back fairly easily with your credit card provider - just lodge that in too with the evidence.
