  • Honestly looks like pretty good value. What motherboards are expected to be used?

Also would be nice to have a case upgrade option or just use a better case and add $50 to the price. Has pretty much no front airflow and the front panel is near impossible to remove.

    • +3

      Hi Materix01,

Due to covid19, there is extremely limited stock of cases and we're struggling to find large enough supply to meet demand,

We will take this into consideration and I'll see if we can have the Athena M1 by Gamadias offered as well as this provides much more airflow and we have some on hand,

As for the motherboard, the brand will most likely be Gigabyte

      OP

    • +20

      Hi Materix,

The case upgrade has been approved,

      We listen to user feedback,

The Athena M1 Upgrade is now available for $55.

A quick photoshop job on my half so please forgive me,

      Price blocks have been updated

      OP

  • What about the graphics card?

    • +2

      Hi Kazerui,

Due to limited stock at the moment I can't confirm a brand as we have orders in for multiple major brands

      OP

      • It says triple-fan so maybe Gigabyte or XFX? Can you confirm if the card will actually be triple fan?

        • +4

          Hi there,

The card will definitely be triple-fan,

          No doubts about it

          OP

How would you compare your price with TechFast? From your replies above, sounds like both your business model is the same. Would competition drive the price lower? Time will tell

    • +16

Techfast is still cheaper, but their prices seems to be going up. No great deals recently. However, techfast uses cheaper components and if you start upgrading them then they become more expensive than CGB.

    • +3

I think this is cheaper once you upgrade the Techfast deals to 80+ Gold PSU and 32GB Ram.

With that said, 3600X and 32GB Ram here isn't exactly a popular combo. Some may find it hard to justify this over 3600 and/or 16gb.

  • How long does it take for shipping?

    • +1

      Hi there,

You're currently looking at around a 2-3 week wait time,

This is primarily as we're waiting for more GPU stock,

      OP

      • Good to know. Thank you.

  • +10

Looks to be a good price with better components than the average Techfast builds.

Better MoBos and PSUs are a huge plus. As these are the 2 components that are most likely to fail if using cheaper quality parts.

  • Aside from the QLC ssd this is well specd and reasonably priced.

    • +6

      Hi TeddyBear,

      It's actually TLC,

      Error on the listing,

      Fixing now

      OP

      • +1

Thanks for the prompt reply, I hope your aftersales support is just as quick :).

        This definitely sweetens the deal.

    • -5

Well WD Green is TLC and shit, so they could easily say that.

      • +7

I can guarantee you that you will not have a WD green in there as we don't currently buy them

        OP

        • -5

Ok Kingston A400. Lol I'm just playing with ya, that sounds pretty good.

        • CGB, do you have a shortlist of possible SSDs?

          • +3

            @TeddyBear: Not currently,

Buying whatever we can get our hands-on,

Our last shipment was WD Blues if that helps?

            OP

      • +1

I usually wouldn't recommend a dramless drive like a WD green for a boot drive. But considering the price and surrounding components, it's a decent package.

Edit: No WD Greens, seems like WD Blues could be likely. These have a DRAM cache and would make for excellent boot drives.

  • +10

Have you been hired to assassinate Techfast?

      • :O

  • +1

Hi, looks like a decent deal, how long do you take to process and ship orders? Had some bad experiences with other PC builders on Ozbargain regarding wait times, hoping that this will be a bit better.
    Thanks :)

    • Hi Could Be Better,

Looking at around 2-3 weeks currently

To anyone buying this def get a cooler for the 3600, stock one is awful .I recommend the be quiet pure rock . Dropped my temps from 80 to 60

    • +2

This is the 3600X, so it comes with the Spire. However afaik the Spire is loud too, I'm going to get the Pure Rock 2 as well for my Versa H18. Seems like a really good cooler. Just worried about it destabilizing my memory OC.

      • +1

Rajeh is right about the noise, though I'm running one on an overclocked R7 1700 that pulls much more power and, thus is harder to cool than this. It runs fine even with heavy use. This stock cooler should be adequate.

        • That's the difference. Zen 2 stock coolers are no longer made by Cooler Master, which is why the fan makes this horrible grinding noise. Real shame AMD stopped partnering with them.

          • @Void:

Zen 2 stock coolers are no longer made by Cooler Master

            Source?

            • @TeddyBear: I forgot where I picked this info up, and I can't seem to find it. It is possible that only the Spire is made by CM rather than all having been made by them. My Stealth doesn't have the Cooler Master logo anywhere.

Edit: Found it! Top comment. And the video they were referring to.

              • @Void: That's fair, I was a little suspect after recently watching a GN video claiming Cooler Master produces some of both AMD and Intel's stock coolers.

                • @TeddyBear: Off topic but for a good 20 minutes I thought your profile pic was a ginger cat lol.

                  • +1

@Void: I also just realised the cat in your profile pic has red eyes, lmao.

                  • +1

@Void: Today's kids will never know the reassuring welcome of the Bear in the Big Blue house

    • Agreed. I have the 3600 from a prev techfast deal and it was 90C under load. I replaced it with a gammaxx 400 I got for $30 and I'm under 60C under load now.

      • -4

Your CPU isn't being pushed, download Prime95 or similar to stress your CPU. Custom watercooling cannot achieve less than 60C …

  • Is the motherboard M-ATX or full size ATX?

    • Hi Dazzsser,

Due low stock due to covid19 supply shortages I can't guarantee,

      Most likely M-ATX though

      OP

  • Will it come with a triple-fan GPU as stated?

    • Yes, triple-fan GPU is guaranteed,

      OP

  • I mostly built my own pc and gathered all the components while on special on ozbargain website, learn how to from youtube

    • +3

I build my own now as well but it's hard to argue to value. Good way to get into PC gaming without a barrier to learn. I couldn't source the parts used for cheaper right now let alone build and provide warranty at the asking price.

    • +1

If any parts turn out to be defective, good luck finding where the problem is.

      • It pays to buy quality mb with debug leds and test the system outside the case before commiting to the build.

  • +16

Way better deal than Techfast. Double the RAM, double the SSD, better PSU etc.

    • +5

How can you accurately compare two mystery boxes?

    • Techfast B450 MSI Mortar Max mobo is likely better than this one. OP said probably Gigabyte and their B450 VRM are not great: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1d9_E3h8bLp-TXr-0zTJF…

Should be fine if you don't want to eventually upgrade to higher core CPUs tho.

      • their B450 VRM are not great

        Barely makes any difference.

        • +1

Barely makes any difference with a 3600X. A 3900X or 3950X will not run stable on the el cheapo boards.

          • @Kingduytan: Yeah will likely only affect overclocking 3900x/3950x/4000.

        • It doesn't matter the Mortar MAX is the mATX board.

  • +1

Amazing value considering the market prices.

  • KAGAMI K-1 White - how many RGB fans does it come with?

    yikes, the Kagami case!
the Techfast fans won't like that at all :D
it took them this long to get TF to throw it away

    • I'd take the Versa H18 any day over that piece of shit!

      • +1

        Hi Rajeh,

        Maybe in the future,

We currently don't stock Thermaltake but we're always listening to our customers

        OP

        • That's good to hear. Just including an airflow oriented case in the base model, or even having two identically priced options with one geared to aesthetics and the other to airflow would be a good idea.

  • Anyway to offer the specs but with a much smaller case? No need for the 1TB HDD, just space for 2 to 3 SSD.

    Cheers.

    • Hi Chuns,

If you would like a different case,

Please either DM us or email us at [email protected] and we'll try to accommodate your request

      OP

    • +1

No need for the 1TB HDD

Lucky it's not included in the price…

  • +2

I noticed your website sells chewing gum, maybe throw a few packets into this deal just to sweeten it just a bit more ;)

    • +5

Add it to the order comments and all yours :)

      OP

  • I know the build states 1 year warranty, but if the individual components fail can we get warranty on them separately? (Eg graphics card usually has 3 years warranty).

    • +1

      Hi there,

Yes, you can claim individual warranties as these parts are all in new form and supplied from official suppliers / directly from manufactures.

Please ensure to register the serial numbers though as this is needed with some manufactures,

      OP

  • Warranty: 1 Year

What is actually covered under the express warranty, can't seem to find the details listed?

Assume warranty rights are in addition to statutory rights as a consumer and ACL provisions?

    • Hi there,

      This is correct

You're covered by breakdowns caused by non phyiscal breakdown of goods.

If the machine is intentionally abused, mistreated or a part is broken due to self servicing you will not be covered under the warranty and any charges with getting it fixed will not be covered by the company.

If the machine is used for mining you will not be covered as this is known to damage parts overtime and is therefore classified as intentional damage.

If for example you wake up and your RGB fan isn't spining a free replacement will be installed. Same goes for your gpu and all other parts, a free servicing of the PC and replacement of the parts will be provided.

I hope this helps clarify your question,

      OP

Sorry. that is a bit vague, do you have a hard copy/pds you could link me to?
        ie. return shipping?

There appears to be a promotion with Gigabyte currently happening are we eligible to receive the games…?

  • +3

Good price and better components here than TF with this deal. Nice seeing competition now for bang for buck boxes.

  • +1

Any chance to upgrade mobo to B550 or x570?

    • If you would like to upgrade your motherboard you can.

Either DM us on ozbargain or email us at [email protected]

      OP

  • Really solid deal. Kind of makes me hate myself for putting together a build over the last week. Although, first time I’ve ever built a pc from scratch, so it did feel like somewhat of an accomplishment.

If I take out the 1TB NVMe cost that I’ve put in the build (from the $132 special the other day), total cost would be $1402, and only have 16gb ram/standard 3600.

Might finally be the cure to get me off OzBargain for a couple weeks, just so I stop seeing these prices go down!

Not really missing much going 3600 vs 3600x. The RAM won't matter if you're mostly just gaming as by 32 GB is needed, you'd probably want DDR5 anyway.

Where'd you find a Tomahawk Max for $170 out of interest?

      • +1

It was $439 for Ryzen 5 3600 and B450 tomahawk. So it wasn’t really $170 exactly, I could have put it as $249 and $190, but Ryzen 5 generally tends to go on sale around the $269 mark.
