If you are a student, Autodesk give you free:
Inventor (mechanical 3d modeling, like solidworks)
AutoCAD (general purpose 2D and 2d CAD)
Maya (3d modeling and animation)
Revit (building and construction modeler)
3DS Max (3d modeling and animation)
TinkerCAD (simpler 3d modeler - I think may be free anyhow)
