Need a blow torch attachment for that, not a soldering iron attachment which will just get the tip hot rather than an open flame at the tip.
Thanks for that - didn't realise it didn't come with the blow torch piece. Looks like Bunnings has other Tradeflame with the blow torch attachment. Will check those out.
If your local Aldi happens to have any of the torches left they are pretty good for $15 though was from a couple of weeks ago so chances aren't high.
You should be able to unscrew the tip and have some open flame. But, it won't be as strong as a specific cooking torch.
I have a similar one from the same brand and use it for heat shrinking of shrink tubes after soldering.
It looks like a small rechargeable torch. I found refills too expensive.
I believe for cooking it is better to get a bigger one which attaches directly to the top of the butane can.
That's what sushi shops in my area are using.Those are too powerful which will crack the ceramics
Does anyone know if you can use these for cooking (ie/ creme brulee)?
