For all Philips warranty claims please contact Philips directly on 1300 360 386

You know its the store thats meant to deal with warranty claims. Also what does "guaranteed ok" mean? Mint condition? Ok condition just a few scratches?

    • +1

It's a legal requirement that customers can go through the original seller for warranty claims (if they choose to).

    • sorry this was a mistake, warranty claims would indeed come to mstore

      • How long is the warranty on this monitor?

  • +24

Op, you might have to do better than that as it is only $939 No box damage and free delivery here. Other than that, this is one of the best value ultrawide monitors on the market atm. Excellent colour gamuts NTSC 100%*, sRGB 119%*, Adobe RGB 90%* and USB-C with Built-in Display Port Alt mode.

Is the box damaged so bad so it became 32" as per title? ;)

    • Lol just saw that. Username checks out :)

    • Yea loses an inch on each side

    • oh you guys don't miss a thing! I'd hire you for checking all my copy.

      • Do a sale on the LG Ultragear 27GL850-B. I doubt Amazon are honouring their $699 sale very quickly.

  • +7

The standard price is $940! So you're only discounting by $40?

    • You can’t buy a new box with your $40 saving?

      • +8

Possibly but your onsell price will be much lower when you go to sell it. However, that's not the point. The point is that a 5% discount is not that much of a deal and throw in the damaged box and it's terrible.

        • Yep, fair point!

    • Don't forget postage. Last time I checked, shipping to WA for this size monitor is $80-$160 from the east.

Lenovo G34w-10 better value at $729 on the Lenovo Education Store (RRP $912). 1440p curved ultra-wide, 144Hz refresh rate. Have it myself (bought when it was $679 in March); recommend highly.

    • does it have usb-c ?

    • Nice specs on the Lenovo. Less colours but still 72% NTSC so good enough. No usbC though

    • Lenovo G34w-10 better value at $729 on the Lenovo Education Store (RRP $912).

Poorer colour gamut (72% NTSC) than the Philips, limited ports at the back, no USB-C with alt DP, no USB hub, no KVM switch capability.

      • the kvm and dock is pretty garbage
        source: have the 439P

        • How's your experience been with the 439p? I'm in the market for an ultra wide with KVM so keen to get your opinion.

          • +2

@dimsum2: kvm is the worst "feature" of the monitor. to swap inputs and kvm is about 10 button clicks.
monitor goes to sleep usb ports turn off, so you usually have to power cycle the display.
there is a usb power save mode but that seems to only behave for the pc connected to usb1.
and all the video inputs are bound to usb1, but thats also the one with PD and DP over USBC, which makes no sense.
basically its not practical to use the kvm. would be quicker for me to swap usbc cables on devices.

            everything else is fine.

            • @doxxie: That sounds too frustrating to deal with. Thanks for the reply!

      • This! Can't compare with the Lenovo when it's in a totally different bracket altogether. Usually a 100% NTSC monitor will cost up to 50% more compare to a standard 72% NTSC monitor. USB-C is a huge plus for users with USB-C laptop and usually add $100 extra cost, useless to those who don't need it, but is a deciding factor for many.

I had the 349P7FUBEB for couple of weeks with similar color and USB-C dock. It's brilliant.

More than 10 of them boxes are damaged?!

  • VA display definitely not awesome display

    • what type of display is the one to go for (i'm not gamer)

      • +1

IPS is considered the best for most uses.

      • +3

There are good, and bad VA displays. IPS displays are best all-around but they cost more than VA monitors. they are preferred because they exhibit less color shifting (and the best viewing angles). However, some IPS panels exhibit IPS glow, which is more of a drawback of the tech rather than a manufacturing defect. You shouldn't notice it in most cases unless you're turning off the lights in your room and looking at a mostly dark scene.

VA monitors have superior blacks and a high contrast ratio. The downside is their pixel response times aren't generally great and there's perceptible motion blurring or ghosting when you're playing games. There are certain gimmicks that manufacturers can use to reduce the ghosting, usually by way of backlight strobing. The trade-off is that backlight strobing reduces the overall brightness (because it's essentially flickering the backlight on and off)

        • thanks, IPS it is!

    • +1

Around this price range and under, curved monitors are usually VA. If you are not a gamer, you don't need +100Hz monitors. Better to choose a monitor with good colour reproduction, contrast ratio, brightness and ports at the back. Choose one that has USB-C (with alt DP mode) for future proofing as more laptops nowadays come with this port, you'd only need one cable for power, video and data to the monitor.

      • +1

Though all USB-C video is limited to 60Hz. Then again, those one cable devices arent designed to be pumping out 100fps anyways…

  • +2

Holding my wallet for one 27", IPS, QHD, 144hz.

  • +1

    2K+ display: check
    usb-c: check
    ultra-wide: check
    VESA mount: check
    curved: check

That's exactly what I am looking for here

  • This deal vs this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/544896

    Pros and cons anyone?

    • These monitors are very similar. The Philips has a built-in docking station via USB-C which has Ethernet and Audio output as well as USB ports for peripherals. USB-C also supports charging of laptops up to 90W vs 65W for the Samsung.

    • The Samsung has no specific colour gamuts and less bright (250 vs 300 nits).

Price reduced $869 inc Delivery inc GST. After negotiation with the supplier, this is as low as I can offer

    • I’d say now this is a deal alright. Have a vote for the effort 👍

  • Given the opened box nature, and that you don't have a store front (plus I'm based in VIC anyway), what happens if the monitor is not in an acceptable state? Who handles the return shipping?

    • +1

My supplier has verified all stock as ok. However, if you did encounter a problem with state of the unit upon delivery, I would happily return and arrange to ship on your behalf.

      • Great to hear, thanks!

  • Will it still have full Philips Australian Warranty considering it's damaged box? And how long is the warranty on these?
