Asus ZenBook UX433 14" 1080p i7 10510U 16GB RAM 512GB SSD Win10 Pro - $1599 + $100 Cashback
TP-Link Archer AX11000 Next Gen 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 Tri Band 5 Ghz Gaming Router - $559.20
Hm… only way to get 16GB RAM is pay $400 extra for the i7.
Also, the USB-C port on this model cannot be used to charge the laptop or to output a video signal.
I found out about this the hard way.
Same here. I passed the UX433FN to my wife. :)
On both of them? I guess they're basically the same model, but with different specs?
No video via USBC is a deal breaker for me, otherwise this looks good.
I have the Asus ZenBook UX433 14" 1080p i7 10510U 16GB RAM 512GB SSD Win10 Pro.
Happy with it, good performance, great size.
As someone said, USB-C port cannot be used to charge, but that's OK for me. I use the supplied charger.
Don't know about battery life as mine is almost always on charge.
I love that the machine is so quiet. And cool to the touch.
One thing I find is that In File Explorer, creating a New folder takes longer than it did in my old laptop. No idea why, but it is noticeable.
Does it help..
Run File explorer. | click on View tab | most right select Options | under Privacy, u untick both box… [] Show recent used… [] Show freq… |ok
@im
Yes it does!
Thanks very much for the suggestion.
The $1200 UX433FN or the IdeaPad Slim 5, 14" at similar price??
Always Asus over Lenovo for me. My son's Ideapad Yoga is back at Lenovo for the third time getting repaired within the space of just over a year. My Zenbook UX31A from 2012 is still working great.
Lenovo consumer grade notebooks are very bad in my opinion. No complaints about Thinkpad commercial stuff but wouldn't touch their consumer grade notebooks with a bargepole any more.
Also Asus have local service centre here in Perth. Lenovo stuff always has to be shipped back over east and their courier won't pick up from me so the whole thing is the biggest pain in the arse!!!
Hm… not sure why, but the IdeaPad 5 sold in AU has very bad screen. I've just looked at the tech spec, 45% NTSC, fail! The US version is praised for not skimping on the panel in the budget range.
On the flip side, IdeaPads IMO have always had decent build and very good keyboard (except for the yoga range). Asus UX is not bad, it's their more premium range with excellent design, but it seems a bit hit & miss, there are lots of people I know that have issues. I bought 1 myself for my in-law which turn out okay, she loved it, but it does run very hot.
I wouldn't go for UX433FN if you need to connect 2 displays at the same time, or if you want to charge through USB-C
What about performance wise how do you think the asus will compare to the 4500U
Thanks - I ended up getting a UX433 from the same seller that was in between the two listed (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASUS-UX433-ZenBook-1080p-Touch-1…).
UX433FN has an older 8th-gen i5 for $1200 (a little too old for me)
The UX433 listed in this post is a 10th-gen i7 for $1599 (a little too pricey for me)
The one I got is a UX433FAC with a 10th-gen i5 for $1349 (my Goldilocks zone haha).
Not touch screen on the $1200 UX433FN? Shame.
