  • When will cinema open?

    • Says 2nd July

      • +1

Yes, just one day after their $2 choc-top ice-cream special finishes :-(

    • Thanks, updated the link

  • The Victorian Discount eVoucher entitles one adult to attend a movie session screening between 2nd July 2020 and 2nd October 2020 at Village Cinemas locations in Victoria only*.

    • Surcharges apply for Vmax, Vpremium, Vjunior, Dolby Atmos and 3D sessions. Booking fees may apply.

Doesn't tell you how much those surcharges are at checkout. Is this the case of $8 voucher then rock up at the booth to pay a $12 surcharge for Vmax plus $5 booking fee?

    • I think Vmax was about $3-4 extra.
I don't recall paying booking fee with vouchers, and if there was, it was about a $1-1.5 (for online bookings only).

  • +1

Do they slug you with a "booking fee" at the checkout?

    • +1

      Yes from past experiences

      • +3

Yeah nah then. I remember i got 3 gold class tickets and had to pay another $15+ or so for "booking fees". What a load of rubbish.

I will stick to the pirate of the seas.

    • Nah, no booking fee with this. I just bought 2 GC tix and it was $40.

      • +2

I think you might get slugged the booking fee when actually booking the session.

        • +1

Happens online, but no fee in store

  • +1

please specify VIC only in title. quite a buzzkill clicking through and finding that out :-(

    • Yeah my local (in Vic) is not on the list so buzz kill even with VIC specified, only SELECTED VIC cinemas.

  • +2

Make sure you look at what movies are being shown. Very little new until well after these expire.

    • you're right , thanks for making me stop and look

  • Palace Cinemas have 5 tix for $40 but 3 year expiry

    • +1

This +1. And also Supports local businesses not mega conglomerates.

Booking fees + vmax 'upgrades' will probably cost you $5-8 dollars as well, and maybe a covid cleaning fee on top…

  • The tix price is $8 for regular cinemas.

Surcharge is up to $3-4 for Atmos (Crown Casino).

If you book the seat online you have to pay extra booking fee of $1 something if my memory serves me right.

Best way just stick with regular cinemas and redeem the voucher at the booth (not online).

  • Now that Victorian cinemas have been postponed til July 20 - what does it mean for these tickets?

Will the expiry date be extended until Oct 20?

    • Village shows their cinemas open (some exceptions which show TBA, looks like north-western suburbs where there are Stage 4 restrictions).

I'm getting $15 ticket prices, though.
