    Thanks. Bought boggle

  • Has anyone played Monopoly junior electronic banking? I'm considering buying it for my five year old but there's some pretty mixed reviews around. I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

      Buy risk.

Buy the original monopoly meant for 8+ if you're playing with your kid. They'll need your help often, the game is long (often 2 hours!), you'll need to give them chance and let them win, but you'll be surprised how much they learn about maths, strategy and reading when they play with you.

Thanks to monopoly, I learned how to cheat

        • +4

Thanks to monopoly I learned how to call out cheaters.

Game are wonderful for learning by osmosis.

I was surprised when playing monopoly with a relatives kids - 11 & 14 years old. They couldnt work out the basic maths change ie 500-175 in their heads… they had the electric version.

I agree. Boardgames are the best way to learn simple arithmetic, get the normal monopoly and play alongside your 5yr old. Simplify the rules, forget about adding houses and just charge as much rent as you like for each property, even make the rent for landing on the square a flat $5 or something. As they get the hang of it, bring the rules up to the next level.

But monopoly is a pretty awful game really. The kids version of Catan is great with our 5yr old, 13yr old and us parents. Also Sushi-Go is a real favourite with everyone and the 5yr old has gotten killer at it, as well as Slamwich.

        • I have been looking for new games to keep my 5yo busy. Will look at those games. Thank you for the recommendation.

  • Also this monopoly edition voice activated for $35.1 (41% off)

Prices for the items would be more useful to the deal than % off an unknown amount.

Risk is a good deal. Shame it's not the Europe edition, as that's a lot more fun.

    • Have always wanted to get Risk. How is the European version different? OOps. Its literally a map of Europe Vs a map of the world.

  • I just purchased Risk 2 days ago for $49.99 from Amazon. Do they do refunds or price protection?

    • If not opened, send it back

Ask them nicely and they usually give you credit for the difference as a one off curtesy while explaining it is not their policy.

      • +1

I called them and they said we can offer you free return and then you can purchase the product. I asked them if they can offer credit instead because the hassle is too much, she gave me $5 credit. Something better than nothing I guess, thanks for your advice!

        • Now return it. Or buy a new one and return it under the old transaction if bought already.

I'm kidding please don't do that.

    Language: French

    • Reviews and FAQs confirm it’s English. Must’ve been a listing error.

The only difference is all of the cards say “I surrender.”

      • I've always felt that was a cheap shot from people who have never lived in countries that shares a border with Germany, have never lived in a war torn country or are just regurgitating 'what my dad says'. I'm sure the literally millions of soldiers that have lost their lives over the last millennia in wars fighting for France never had a say in whether they wanted to fight a war or surrender. In the end it's the Politicians/Rulers who make those decisions. It's one of those cultural assumptions that belongs in a football hooligans anthem.

  • Why this monopoly is expensive than Australia version? Any suggestions?

Update: got it. Electronic version. Much better.

Nice. Going to grab Monopoly - 'Straya Edition ($25.00 - 37% off).

    • Electronic vs paper money. Chance of loosing cash is more if you have younger kids around.

    • Thanks for the heads up, they price matched bigw

    • Property is 30-% more, courtesy of the Aussie dollar value.

  • Man wanted a board game called Hotel. The 1987 version. I wished it was still in print.
