  • very nice. beat me to the chase on this one, i was just about to post it myself.

cancelled my order from 9-Jun on a white pair that still hasn't shipped.

this one is cheaper, in a better colour scheme and ships by 23 June.

    no brainer.

Cancelled my white order, only to have the black run out of stock. Bummer.

  • It's better to have lower timings than higher speeds for gaming right? You can always increase the timings and increase the speed?

    • +1

Correct me if I am wrong. With this ram, from memory 3600hz and CL16 is not the default setting(at least for myself), it will only becomes that when you turn on the XMP, that probably means you won't have much improvement interms of working frequency and timings.

      • the highest default setting is 2666 for current ddr4 I think

To answer the original question, last I checked 3600MHz appears to be the "sweet spot" with as tight/low timings as you can get to improve performance.

There's an XMP profile for the advertised speed and timings, depending on the motherboard however you can set these settings manually and tweak them. Like CPU overclocking it's not an exact science, every pair has different results.

There's an in-depth guide including some software you can download to do most of the work for you here:

        Software - https://www.overclock.net/forum/13-amd-general/1640919-new-d…
        Guide - https://www.overclock.net/forum/27694284-post3363.html

Personally I'm running a a B350 motherboard with a Ryzen 1600X with 3200MHz RAM and haven't done anything but bump the voltage slightly to hit that speed, I've left timings as per the XMP profile. Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series chips with a B450 or later generation board have much better memory support at higher speeds and are better suited to trying these kinds of overclocks.

  • Shows $195.10
    + $10.14 Delivery for me

    • yes because it's sold out at $136.89.

  • Sold out? Must have been very low stock

    • had 4 left after i ordered mine but yes sold out now.

    • Go for the white or red if you don't mind colour.

      • Amazon US on the White or Red though. The black was AU stock.

ya don't bother, i ordered the white on 9 Jun, still not shipped and cancellation was immediate, meaning nothing was done in a whole week.

        • I think I waited for a month before it shipped August last year. As I wasn't building a new system (why would I buy it then lol) so I was like, one month… I don't care… I will wait lol

Luckily I did though because I eventually bought everything in the EOY and built it after new year :)

    Alternatively, there's CL18 Corsair 3600mhz @ $113:

  • The RGB version of this same ram regularly goes for about only $20 more on Amazon, if you don't mind the RGB.
I just grabbed 2 RGB sticks last week since they were black and the non-RGB were less than $10 cheaper at the time.

  • I have the RGB ones, what's the fastest speed/timings these can go?

    • +1

Running 4x sticks of 8GB's RGB version 32GB total at 3600 CL16 stock xmp nothing else changed on a Ryzen 3700X and MSI B450M MORTAR TITANIUM.. rock solid.. this ram is awesome

1900IF at 3800MT/s CL16 looks to be easy

Some are trying for 4800 to 5000 MHz at CL18.

  • 3200 for $116

  • would the F4-3600C16D-16GVK be better due to timings for a ryzen 7? Just curious if i am understanding these things correctly

    DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)
    Timing 16-16-16-36
    CAS Latency 16
    Voltage 1.35V

    • The lower or "tighter" you can make the timings the better and 3600Mhz is the "sweet spot" for the Ryzen platform. The ones you mentioned would definitely be better, but by how much and whether it's an appreciable difference would depend on what you're using the machine for. As long as they're a comparable price to the ones listed here then it's worth it IMO.

I made a reply a bit further up which has some more info if you're curious.

  • Back it stock right now, grab it while you can!

    Edit: Price went up.
