When you click on the photo you should be directly linked to Repco's website?
It's been fixed now
how much would an install for a toyota corolla 2009 cost?
Corolla 2009 is very easy to install, how handy are you, there's many Youtube videos you can follow?
Should be around $50-100, or you can find a friend with experience to help you, pretty straight forward fitment.
I happen to have a 2009 Corolla and have done a HU install.
You'll need a toyota to [insert HU brand] loom/harness converter (Aerpro covers alot of brands and has a 'what you'll need' search thingi)
The Process:
1) remove the garnishes on both sides of the centre console (the pull out-towards you)2) remove the top tray (Ascent)/vents (Levin) above the head unit. disconnect the hazard light switch before fully removing
3) 4 x 10mm bolts, 2 each side of the HU, use an extension bar. Be careful and dont drop them into the 4th dimension below the HU.
4) Disconnect old HU from the loom/harness and any other connectors install the new loom/harness.
5) Install mounting brackets onto new HU, Connect all looms/harness and other connectors.
6) Do steps 1-3 in reverse to reinstall.
Optional Extras to consider:
My Levin has steering wheel buttons that required another loom converter to work with my after market HUBecause the size of the OME toyota HU is abit wider than a 'din' slot, Aerpro also has garnish thingos to fill out that space to make it a bit more clean and complete.
I've got this unit and it's fantastic! I installed it myself, very easy with wiring adaptors.
I didn't bother installing the reverse camera as I don't have trouble reversing my car (wagon) and couldn't be bothered feeding the wiring down. For a sedan a reverse camera would really help though.
Good looking unit, no hiss noise from this unit not like other android units do, also good price IMO
What do you mean 'hiss noise'?
The quality of sound is very good. One thing it does have which some other units may not is a cooling fan which can be heard once your engine is off and volume down low, but it's not really obtrusive at all, ie it's quieter than your ventilation fan on lowest speed.
Some eBay Android unit will make hiss due to poor design and connection, the Pioneer's one won't have this problem
@Kunkka: Yes, I don't recommend cheap Android ebay units. They are poorly made, and also they might be an Android unit, but is not the same as Android Auto functionality.
Similarly, this is capacitative screen which is so much nicer to use - don't get one that is resistive screen - they are so much harder to use and don't feel as nice using the screen.
Now just have to wait until they bring one out with DAB+ for this price :)
How's the DAB+, never tried them before, are there a lot of channels?
Depends on where you live.
Zero DAB on the Gold Coast. Here in Adelaide there is a few extra stations. To me it sounds like a more quality audio but you have to be in Suburbia to get it, even then you're not guaranteed.
I'm trying to convince Mrs Doogiechap that the SPH-DA250DAB is a necessary part of our driving life (not much luck yet). In Perth, Pioneer's DAB windscreen antenna works really well with minimal dropouts YMMV in other cities.
Handy to know
Does anyone know why anything with DAB+ is so expensive? Shouldn't prices have come down by now?
How easy would this be to fit into a Nissan xtrail 2011 model?
Yup, easy fit
If you buy the harnesses from areopro its pretty easy to install the head unit itself. Reverse camera can be a bit time consuming but not too difficult for someone that is reasonably handy.
Do Repco offer installation?
I'm not sure probably give them a call
Nah they don't.
Is it wireless connection for android, or does it need a cable like a lot do?
Cable connection needed for Apple/Android carplay
I've heard the wireless ones can be pretty flakey but YMMV
my friend has a 2020 JVC wireless Carplay unit. the only thing the wifi is used for is data to the head unit. from my brief demo (half hour drive) it was stable as a wired carplay connection. its just phone data and VNC being handled over Wifi instead of a cable
all the wireless carplay head units include a GPS receiver as the GPS data is passed from the HU to the phone app over wifi/BTLE as that was the biggest power hog for GPS nav.
Description says wireless or cable for apple and android but this will also depend on your phone
Thanks.
Does it matters what Android you have?
How does this compare to the popular Sony ax5000?
Decided to buy this unit instead of the Sony. Reviews from both suggest you can't go wrong with either
Anyone recommend a good unit for Rav4 2018?
Is DMH-Z6350BT good? I think it has wireless connection to Google Pixel phones and wired on other phones.
this has wireless carplay but not wireless android auto.
see chart at the bottom: https://www.prnewswire.com/il/news-releases/pioneer-s-new-20…
yeh, I saw this. But, I watched a video on youtube mentioned wireless android auto will work on google pixel phones.
Anyway, has anyone installed this model? Any suggestion for Rav4?
what's a good camera to go with this?
Any generic camera works fine. I use a $10 eBay special, gets the job done
thanks mate
If I was to purchase, any idea where I could get this installed in a 2014 Mazda CX5? From SE Melbourne.
Hack available to get free maps and live traffic on factory Mazda CX5 nav system which removes the need to swap out factory setup for many owners.
You'll have to check that your model is covered, but I'd imagine that the fit and integration would be better with Mazda's upgrade (https://www.mazda.com.au/owners/help-and-support/apple-carpl…). Pricing seems competitive with alternatives such as this deal, just make sure to do your research.
I believe Toyota offers a similar scheme for some of their models, too.
How easy is this to fit in a 2010 Audi A3?
You will need FP8020(facia) and CHAD3C(steering wheel control) these two kit to fit A3 8P, more details on https://aerpro.com/vehicles/audi/audi-a3-2006-2012-8p#-
Cheers Kunkka, you're the man!
No worries mate!
how do I check if this will fit a 2014 holden Cruze?
It will defo fit your car but you probably need some facia kit to have the perfect fitment, check aerpro.com
I was wondering if someone having this head unit can help me out. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20+ and when I am using the Spotify option via Bluetooth, I get the message “No device connected. When safe, connect device and reattempt connection”, but if I stream Spotify via the Bluetooth Audio option, then it works fine. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sounds like you are trying to use Android auto wirelessly which this head unit cannot do. You can stream Spotify from your phone to the headunit fine, but if you want to use the built in apps on the headunit you must connect the phone via USB.
Actually these have a built in Spotify app (Spotify Connect) seperate from Android auto that works over bluetooth. Can open playlists, like songs etc without plugging in your phone.
interesting, looking forward to installing my unit this weekend
This happens on mine when I first turn the car on, even though it says Bluetooth is connected. Usually if I wait about 30sec-1min and press the device selector button and rechoose my phone it will connect properly.
Ok, thanks for the advice. I will give this a try but I'm sure I waited long enough (more than a minute) before using the Spotify function as I was going back and forth between Bluetooth audio and Spotify when I was testing it out.
I actually bought this unit for $360 when Cashrewards was doing 20% cashback on top of Repco 20% off. What a steal it was.
