These aren’t the ones that are $200. They are little baby fiddle leaf plants

Happy to be corrected if anyone knows otherwise

    • +2

You're correct. This isn't a deal so much as Bunnings releasing a new range of mini plants.

      Indeed. F*** news.com.au clickbait

  • is it all bunnings or specifice store(s)?

  • I went yesterday and my two were $4.95 each and there were only 3 out of hundreds of other plants.

Someone mentioned they’re dwarf ones and won’t ever grow big?
    Truth to this?

    • Depends.

If it is a Lyrata variety, they are not dwarf. The Bambino is.

      • It is the Lyrata, how do I post a photo on ozbargain?

        • It's hard to tell from photos, especially if it is small.

Lyrata generally has leaves further apart but the difference between the spacing of a Lyrata vs a Bambino of a young plant is negligible.

A largish plant like one with 60cm+ of growth height from soil would be more obvious. The Bambino has denser leaf coverage. You'll barely see the stem.

Why anyone likes this useless look-like-fake plant? Wouldn't worth $10 for one

  • +7

According to the "News" article linked to, they are little more than seedlings.

Claiming these are "retailing between $19.98 to $200" is misleading as that refers to fully grown plants, not these seedlings.

Edit: title was changed after I submitted post.

Love these news articles blatantly advertising, and people don't seem to get it - Facebook pages of radio stations seem to be big culprits with Aldi stuff. Wonder how much they get paid?

    • You should see the price of Grass Trees (not MaryJ). $200-$50,000

  • This is only a deal for clueless hipsters, not true bargain-hunters.

  • +2

BS post. link doesn't go to bunnings. checked bunnings site and there's no baby fiddle leaf for even close to $5.

  • Had to double take scrolling down the home page thought I saw "Baby Fiddler"

  • +2

This is the normal price. Lol you just got baited by a news.com.au advertising post.

    another infomercial from news.com.au

    • Advertorials… Its not just the Betoota Advocate anymore

There’s nothing here like a bargain, especially one from Bunnings

It's a pointless Bunnings ad on News Ltd.

    No actual deal available
    No link to Deal
    Not on Bunnings site

  • Why link to the daily rupert and give them traffic?!

  • Are these still in stock? I got a variety of small plants including this fig a month ago, and now that section has been replaced with something else.

This is an advertisement not a deal.
