I've been price monitoring this for my new m-itx build and this is the lowest it's been:
https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07WC7683C

Cheaper than any local AU shops that I could find:
http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=sapphire+5700xt…

Mwave $749 - https://www.mwave.com.au/product/sapphire-radeon-pulse-rx-57…
PCCG $779 - https://www.pccasegear.com/products/47782/sapphire-radeon-rx…

Won't get into the technical stuff but this is arguably the king of mid-range cards. Performs better than its similar priced Nvidia competitors (2060s and 2070).

EDIT: Please note delivery estimate is 6-7 July, so that's roughly a month's wait if you can put up with it.

Edit 16/6: Price increase from $637.62 to $649.44 (partly/mostly currency fluctuation)

Edit 13/7: Price drop from $649.44 to $641.69 (currency fluctuation, changing continually)

Edit 22/7: Price drop from $641.69 to $635.47

Who him? Yeah guess all the prices will drop, was aware of this but factored it in, hopefully the 2060s won't drop more than 300$ (currently 800$ new), either way you pay a big premium for the top of the line.

        • +1

Premium is fine, but when the next premium cards are just months away, its crazy to invest on one :)

Price just fell by another $0.97.

  • Thanks Op!

  • Should be in the 500s in the coming weeks

The prices on Amazon are all relative across the range and have pretty much dropped together as the Aussie dollar has increased so a couple of options to also consider would definitely be the Thicc III non Ultra at $635.11 and the Thicc III Ultra at $666.86. I personally ordered the Ultra last week for $673. Getting in to Nitro+ and Red Devil performance territory with the Thicc III Ultra

  • Saving money for a graphics card. Am I likely to get something like this at a lower price end of the year?

    • +2

it's likely, new card releases like the 3080ti, 5800xt or 5900xt might drive the price of the 5700xt down further. Although I reckon the price to performance ratio is at a pretty sweet spot for this card right now. The AUD could rally as it has been against the USD and this could make it more affordable as well.

Too many factors so aim to buy when the price is right for you. Just get a credit card with price protection and you're sorted. I've already claimed a price drop on my mitx motherboard with my 28 degrees card.

    • +2

      Absolutely, yes.

  • Very good price! but I'm going to wait a bit longer to see

  • Sapphire make great cards. Great cooling out of the box. Have a 5600 XT and it's so silent it's not funny when on full load. Had a MSI Armor before and it was… well.. frankly terrible.

  • $641.89 now… going up

  • guys, will my ryzen 7 1700 bottleneck this card? currently on 1060 6gb

  • Deal not expired, just not as good. Went up by $5.50.

  • Is there any difference with this and Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700xt 8gb? Newbie at all this PC stuff!

I asked this question yesterday and the short answer is not much. Go for whichever is cheaper/fits your case so I picked up this model.

I found this youtube review helpful on the Gigabyte v Pulse card: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muy91S9EmZc

Ah okay! Thanks for replying :)
Well Turns out there is a promotional offer with Gigabyte, if you buy the 5700xt you get a 480GB SSD when claimed.
Not sure if they are still in stock but i am leaning towards that due to delivery time with the pulse :/

        • +1

That's a good deal actually and a quick search shows cheapest local stock for $699 at PC Byte with free delivery.
          https://www.pcbyte.com.au/store/product/gigabyte-amd-radeon-…

Had a look at the terms of the Gigabyte promotion too, couple of things to look out for:
          - it is subject to stock levels (so you should buy and claim soon as there does not appear to be a guarantee) and - they will send out the SSD within 8 weeks of promotion end date (ie: 10 July) so it may be a long wait.

I thought about cancelling my sapphire order but decided to stick with it in the end. I will just wait for another good Ozbargain SSD deal! :)

          • @avivadz: Ah I knew about the stock issue but not the 8 week wait haha.
Thanks for letting me know, but I will probably stick with the gigabyte as I can pick it up and in a bit of a rush right now.

  • Also planning an mITX build, what case/CPU will you be using?

I didn't have both the power connectors in properly, EVERY TIME I TRIED IT!! (The connector on my PSU has this odd sliding thing to make it either 6 or 8 pin)

Glad to hear it worked mate! So keen to try mine out tomorrow.. Can't wait.
No more Warzone at 20-50 fps will be good.

  • Must say that I am enjoying the new high frames this card gives me.
However, I have noticed some artifacts like the mouse cursor randomly turning into a pixelated square on the left side of the screen, and a couple of weird moments in-game.
Hopefully, AMD sorts out their drivers soon…

    • in what games? i have no such issues.

      • The mouse bug is the most annoying currently and is happening often
        Overwatch:
        1. The in-game screen went black and only character outlines we visible, a rejoin of the game fixed it.
        2. A blue light bloomed really bright, brighter than usual, or that anyone else could see.

        Witcher 3:
        1. A spinning net caused some black geometry artifacts but this one could simply be due to the game.

    • I have now also run into about 3 instances where the computer becomes frozen in desktop tasks, with no response to input, resulting in a hard restart…
Not having the best experience, to say the least.

  • No one having any issues with the card? Hmm just curious if it's just my card, drivers, or system. The cursor seems to be an ongoing AMD problem for some, but the multiple instances that I've had to force restart is a bit much for my liking.

    • i've had my entire pc reboot on me once on cinebench 20 but i suspect that's the CPU as I OC'ed it on fixed 4.4ghz stock cooling (stupid).
Played DmC5 maybe last week and PC just kicked me out after a cutscene, both cpu and gpu weren't overheating according to rivatuner, PC just stalled and rebooted - no error. This was the only time I think it's an issue with the GPU. I can't replicate this problem so I just chalk it up to poor cooling causing heat spikes in my itx case.

Other games I have installed and tried (but not extensively played), probably clocked around 50hours+ in all. all played in 1440p - very high or ultra settings.

      Red dead redemption 2
      Shadow of the tomb raider
      Destiny 2
      CS:GO
      Dota 2
      Monster Hunter World
      Dark souls 3
      The Sims 4
      Persona 5

      • Thank you for your detailed breakdown Plentifoo.
The strangest part of my experiences has been that problems generally occur in desktop mode while I am not doing anything strenuous on any of my hardware. Remote desktop, due screen WFH.
I'm just hoping drivers fix the problem in the near future, or I might end up giving up and doing a clean windows install to ensure nothing else is causing it.

        • maybe you got a defective card? do you run diagnostics to check for temps etc?

          • @plentifoo: Temps seem high for my liking, but I have learned that this card runs warm and that the reported temps are within capacity.
I've created a Sapphire support ticket providing them with as much information as I can, so am hoping they have some words of wisdom to what is going on and how I can resolve it.

            • @Gojkins: Just realised that the fans turn off when idle… that explains the idle temps.

              • +1

@Gojkins: My goodness disabling bloody windows 10 "fast startup" seems to have fixed the problem!
If anyone else experiences similar issues try doing this easy step before committing to too much else.
Now fingers crossed this isn't temporary…

    • +1

I had heaps of issues on my Gigabyte reference cooler card like random freezes on desktop, second screen flicking through red green and blue when I alt tabbed a game and went back into it. Both issues forcing me to hard reset.

I ran 19.2 drivers for a long time (while 20.4 was out) which seemed most stable at the time.

Currently running the latest 20.5.1 and haven't seen these issues since.
