Why does this site want you to load their crap on your machine before you can install this app?
'Android Market' and Amazon dont seem to need an "installer", so why do they?
There are a number of other sites who also want you to download their "installer" for whatever reason.
I say, 'bugger that'.

Android Market is an installer app just like everyone else's; You just don't think about it because it comes pre-loaded on your Android phone. And I'm not sure how you could get apps from Amazon without first downloading the "Amazon Appstore" app…
And the point of all of these installers is that you can tell your phone to trust that app, and then you can use it to download other apps from that portal/site/store without having to go through security setting rigmarole for each one.
The GetJar app is not very intrusive at all. It takes 5 secs to download and install and you can can periodically open it up to see if they added any new free apps.
I think it's easier than going through Amazon (plus you don't need to lie with GetJar)

Good Deal. Probably worth the effort for Swift Key alone, I know I paid full price for it. IMHO one of the best keyboards on android for people who dont like swype

It does on mine,Just like it remembers any complete email address, names and the like.
Type it once and then select it from the options and it should remember it from then on.

Just downloaded swiftkey x and love it. I've been using swype which came with my gs2 but after 10 mins playing with swiftkey I'm going to stick to it. I loved swpye because you could just drag your finger on the keyboard, but swiftkey seems to be very good for mashing words and then going back to the odd misspelled words.
Tek Trak, Swiftkey X, Beautiful Widges, RadarDroid Pro are some of the very useful programs that are free in GetJar.
Tek Trak especially allows you to remotely locate/lock/message/wipe your phone through their webportal. You basically get 1-year's worth subscription for free with GetJar (save $5)!

When i type Getjar into the market search (on both phone & desktop), the first app it comes up with is 'Masturbator Pro' o_O
…in fact, there are no Getjar apps that appear in the list, even if i separate it into 'get jar'
