    Thanks OP, ordered one.

Might want to fix the price in the title, the hammer drill was $44.99 + postage with the 25% off.

    • Cheers for that.

It was a bit weird, i originally posted it as $49.99 but when i revisited it said $59.99. Must of been viewing an oudated version.

  • The Bosch brushless kit a few weeks ago was still a better deal than this.

  • does this come with battery?

    • Looks like battery and charger sold separately, based on the description on super cheap's website.

    • No. A battery will run you $120 and a charger $60.

There is a deal on their page for a 18v drill, charger and 2 x 2.0ah batteries for a bit over $100

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Stanley-FatMax-Drill-Driver-Kit-1…

      • Thanks mate, that was more useful but less affordable

        • +2

What will you do with the more affordable option if you can't use it without the battery pack?

          • -1

@firefly2k3: true, but I would not call it a deal over 100

  • As someone who is clueless, but has seen lots of deals pop up over time for electric drills and kept thinking "I should get one some day", any advice? Is this one I should buy?

I'd be using it very infrequently to put flat pack type stuff together and not much else I can think of.

I have two of these, and they're fine for home handyman work.

      • Why do you have two? (Genuine question)

Also, do I need to buy extras? Eg if I'm happy to run off powerpoint, can I skip the batteries?

If he's lazy like me, one to keep a drill bit in, one to keep a driver bit in. You get a bit sick of swapping them over on bigger jobs lol

          • @ashanrath: Yeah that's not even a question. For any serious work you need a drill and an electric screwdriver… the cost is irrelevent.

The fact you dont have to change fiddly bits and the power and speed requirements are differnt for a drill to power screwdriver.

You can ruin a screw if you use a power drill too indiscriminately… you dont do that geenerally with a lower powered electric screwdriover.

            • @tonyjzx: Good in theory, but I usually find electric screwdrivers to be a bit aneamic. There are plenty of things you want to use a proper drill with a Phillips head instead. Self tappers are the obvious one.

    • For someone who is clueless/first time buyer, note that not all deals include power pack and charger (this one doesn't). So you'll have to shell out extra (often more than the bare sleeve) to be operational.

      • The above deal only makes sense if you already have some products in the Stanley family, ie. you own the batteries chargers already.

if you're just a home diy etc person then i suspect there are better package deals elsewhere

i have a b&d kit that was $100 with two skins two batteries chargers etc.

Obviously not the best but for most non professionals they dont need much better. Hell I do some diy work with oztios, bunnings xu1 shit.

        • I agree with the above, I have stanley from Masters Deal, and bought the Angle grinder when on special.
I think they are good for the price when on real special.

But if you have no Stanley products - then go the Ozito/Ryobi route -
Bunnings should be close to everyone and they have enough specials
          and good for warranty

Circular saw and recip are both $75 +post as well.

  • Did anyone else just get a refund from PayPal for this? No emails have been received from SCA so rather annoyed.

    • And just got an email saying it was a “Deleted item” so they have cancelled the order.

      • Yeah same here, got the email
