Up temporarily from the usual 4%. A nice extra.

Suncorp Rewards gift cards are typically instant. Haven't tried them with Woolworths/WISH though
So this is potentially only useful if you find yourself ready to pay at the Woolies checkout with a queue behind you and you realise that your gift card balance is short and quickly needed to buy some more.
Very useful when I'm doing my order online. Via other means such as Entertainment Book I usually wait a few hours. With Suncorp I just order a voucher closest to what I need and use it straight away.
TBH you'd just get them to save the purchase by printing the receipt - Have had it done to move from a register that wasn't working.
Also - Cashrewards directs through the woolies portal and for me always seemed to be delivered almost instantly. Last order was Tax invoice 6:03pm, 2x$500 egifts at 6:06pm. I never used suncorp for woolies because cashrewards was cheaper, but I don't see how it could be faster.
@futureminime: Entertainment book directs to Woolies portal as well. When I used it over a year ago it was fine and within a few minutes, but every time I tried in the last 2-3 months (may just be extra demand during COVID?) it has taken several hours, they even called me on one occasion to verify the purchaser. So gave up an just went with Suncorp, as it is always instant.
@conan2000: @conan2000
Did you get called by Entertainment book, Woolies or your bank? Thanks for the headsup as I've not had issues through CR but will make sure I order ahead of time in the future.
@futureminime: It was Woolies that called up to verify the purchase.
@futureminime: I ordered $10 from this deal
It took them 6 hours
the average is 1.5 hours for me@AsukaST: I've never used shopback for it, but good to know thanks.
@futureminime: both cr and sb are the same, never less than 1.5 hours
they use the same portal
Gotcha, thanks.
Through cashrewards they come though in about 10 mins for me. i did one the other day in Big W while in the store.
With CR and SB, it might take 24 hrs the very first time, but after that it's usually 5 minutes for me. They're careful with first time buyers because of credit card theft. It's not really a cash reward or shopback policy, but with woolworths themselves.
That explains why the one I bought with a new VISA GC took a few hours to arrive… :(
@nignucial: If you use different cards (e.g. prepaid ones) to purchase each time, it does take longer to deliver. I am doing it all the time. Woolies own portal is good for customised value, AmEx/prepaid cards acceptance.
Either way you buy Woolworths Gift Cards they are delivered in under around 10min
how is that worth a neg for this deal…?
at 5%, yes. it is instant. suncorp buy stock in advance and then issue it to you
I like to buy them via cashrewards/shopback because it let's you choose the value, whereas suncorp has predefined values.
I just ordered via cashrewards and 4 minutes later I received the gift card.
In the past for certain gift cards I had to wait a few hours to receive it.
I prefer to have the giftcards before I enter the store, so I order them more than 1 day upfront anyway. Its pretty much one of the 3rd party reward programs most corporate's use. For example benefits.suncorp.com shares a certificate with:
guildsuper.com.au
childcaresuper.com.au
racq.com.auThe rewards program is just a white label product branded by the many different companies. Most larger companies seem to be going down this route these days.
Cashrewards is better if you have an amex card. You get 3x points if you have the platinum edge card too.
In the past I used cashrewards but started having problems with giftcards not be issued even several days after purchase and being billed, always had to email each time to sort out, which they did but was annoying. I find the suncorp app much better, instant delivery and I can then copy the giftcard into my woolies money app to save on phone.
It has been temporarily 5% for a while. Still waiting for Coles eGift cards to be available again. Can also just use BigW eGift cards which are still normally 5%.
I'm not 100% sure on the BigW egift cards. I recently got one from a friend (not sure where they got it from) but to my surprise it could only be used at BigW (tried it at Woolies).
Big-W eGC did not work for me at Woolies 2 weeks ago.
Tried also on Dan Murphy's site and also does not work.
Safer to go with DMs/Woolies Petrol cards if you can't get Wish/Woolies.
I always buy bigw, never had a problem in Woolworths or Woolworths caltex
The one that does not work outside BIG W is called "BIG W Store eGC/GC". Be aware of the word "Store".
@Neoika: Good to know thank you neoika
BigW egiftcard only works in BigW, this has been since the last "inception" 😎
I haven't seen it as anything other than 5% despite it saying that it's temporary.
They dropped it to 4% a few months back now. Everyone who was regularly buying through Suncorp just swapped to Cashrewards as that's also free to access and you can also use AMEX since they're via the Woolies Gift Card portal.
For Coles GCs is there an app — like Woolies' Money app — that you can use to track your GC usage? I'm afraid to lose track of any unused Coles GC balances.
Not that I'm aware of. Need to manage it yourself - personally I use Stocard to keep balances updated.
You can definitely use Dan Murphy cards and Woolworths petrol cards at the woolies suoermarket/BWS checkout.
As of last week you can get 5% off Coles gift cards if your a G'day rewards member
how?
Gee don't you love it how you try and help people out and get negged!
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/540988
Edit - not meaning you by the way
Woolworths Petrol cards at 5% also work
Not really a deal when shopback has the same 5%. I usually get the GC emailed in 6 minutes.
it's been 5% with suncorp for a long while, since around mid March this year.
OP if there are plenty of places at 5% a deal is if they are higher not matching for a limited time !
Does anyone buy this using an Amex? Does Amex treat Suncorp as an insurance company and therefore give you less points?
You can't pay with AMEX
Amex Plat Edge still gives 3ppd through Cashrewards/Shopback/Entertainment Book since it goes directly through Woolies' own website. However, Suncorp and other EPP programs that bulk buy vouchers in advance so that they can be issued "instantly" won't qualify for the additional points.
yawns must be a slow day for this to make front page
you could just buy bigw cards for 5% and use it at WW.
Off topic, but does anyone know why Suncorp removed Coles cards and if they will come back? It was a huge differentiator for them.
I think that came from Coles. I checked a few different platforms and they all had removed Coles cards. I remember seeing something about them returning in July.
I'm still exploring the idea of buying Myer GCs and then churning them into Coles Myer GCs at a Myer store as an interim solution. There were some comments on the recent 9% off Myer eGift card deal from AGL Rewards that said this was still possible. Haven't tried it myself yet though.
On mobile so I can't link to the AGL deal sorry.
Myer don't let you buy a gift card with a gift card. I tried that with a Myer store credit.
and moreover, does anyone know of any other way currently to get Coles GCs discounted?
Pmed.
Care to share with me?
AGL rewards 5% off but 1% surcharge on MC/Visa only
You can pay by EFT to avoid surcharge.
Do you know how long it takes to receive the egift cards from AGL?
@imissbeans: Mine took about three days after paying with credit card
@Punkboy: Thanks for letting me know!
You can currently get 5% off Coles cards (with a 1% credit card fee) from nib rewards if you have private health insurance with nib.
I normally buy from cashrewards and have them in the woolies app. I actually went through the checkout yesterday and after selecting to pay with gift card, it came up with a new option to either scan barcode, swipe card or enter card number manually. So looks like they've finally updated to be able to just scan a barcode like everyone else. Not sure if buying with cashrewards will show the barcode or not soon.
Anyone who buys them through Suncorp/RACQ do your woolies gift cards show a barcode like coles ones do?
I saw the barcode option yesterday too. I wonder if they're going to transition away from the Woolies Money app that everyone is currently using and try to bundle it into the new Rewards app that they're pushing.
How about Coles egift cards? Anyone has any suggestion as I dont know where to buy. TIA
AGL rewards.. and from comments above NIB too
What's the easiest way to receive suncorp rewards?
Note: My bank is ING and Ubank, Super is HostPlus. You can open a free bank account with them
How is this a deal?
Wasn't it always 5% off for Woolies with Cashrewards (and presumably Shopback)?
Can get 6% off woolies egift anyway..
It's all well and good saying you can get 6% off - why don't you share how we can get it too, or better yet, submit that deal.
Coz it is a private sale. Possibly a smart way get PMed.
how do you get 6%?
What I do is buy BWS egiftcard from Suncorp which has always been 5% discounted and it works in all Woolworths owned stores including Dan Murphys
On an interesting note, you can actually buy the Caltex WW GC, which is always been 5% off and spend it in your Woolies shops
Never used a WW eGift card in store, what's the process here? Use WW Money App, scan a barcode on phone or enter a code somewhere?
Click on "Other payments" on the checkout screen and press eGift card, punch in 10 digit code and 4 digit pin on EFTPOS terminal.
Send me a PM if you want to see photos of what to press (so you know what to press at woolies)
If you could just send me a PM of the numbers to press for the 10 digit code and 4 digit pin that would be great :-)
I buy them from RACV with same 5% discount. RACV doesn't charge extra for Amex too.
I like wolly egift card as they can be stored in the money app whereas for Coles and other there is no app as such.
For Coles use StoCard or Google Pay. You don't see the balance but it otherwise works pretty well
I print them all as PDF, put them in a shared folder which I share with the missus. So if any of us are at the shops, we have access to the same vouchers.
Forward the GC email to my partner and we can both access GC through the app.
@Momo9: Does the app show how much is remaining?
I rename the file with the remaining credit so both of us know how much to use. It works for us at least.
@TheBooleanOne: Yes, app shows the balance and transactions and it is real time. It is very handy.
But there is no popup or notification, need to open the app and check.
Isn't there like a Caltex Woolworths option in the Suncorp Rewards app which has always been 5%
hmmm i'll take em 15% off from shopback + MCO Visa card
Be careful. Wait times for GCs from Suncorp can be up to 72 hours (see the fine print). I bought a JB Hi-Fi GC last night hoping to use it for yesterdays sale but unfortunately it arrived today, more than 12 hours after ordering. So disappointed. I feel cheated. Luckily I have until 2119 to use it.
Woolworths Liquor gift card is ALWAYS available at 5% discount from Suncorp App. And it can be used at all the same stores as Woollworths gift card.
So there is nothing special about this temporary 1% increase.
Any reason to use this over Cashrewards/Shopback?
