Thanks for this! Definitely getting Trials HD, not sure what else though.

    • Download the demo for Outland… it has a metacritic rating of 84 (I think). Amazing game, though it depends what games you are into. Oh… and no worries!

    • Great choice mate. Trials HD is hours of fun. Recommend for anyone else who hasn't already bought it.

  • Hmm…But it hasn't been announced those 4 games are the things only on sale for 24 hours…Where is your source? It's just I read Major Nelsons blog and he's not announced anything unless I've miss read something.

Major Nelson has really dropped the ball over the last six months. I am pretty sure it is because he gets so many angry comments on his website. He used to reveal the weekly deals in advance… but nowadays only posts them once they are already up.

On the Xbox dashboard under Games Marketplace, the sale is featured there. You will notice that it mentions a one day mega sale. Major Nelson hasn't even mentioned the weekly sale, oddly enough, but lots of US based forums and websites have, i.e. http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?p=13537391.

      • Ahhh..Okay…I was on the dash earlier when I picked up Torchlight but i didn't see the 'One Date Mega Sale' must of just been on too early before they put that one up.

Cheers for the reply :) Was just hoping they weren't the only 24 hour games..ehehehehe!

      It's on the dash now ; )

Everyone grab Trials HD - incredible game, although don't blame me if you suffer hair loss after playing this - awesomely frustrating!

      • 2nd this… especially re. the hair loss! Support the developers and buy the DLC too, well worth the full price (plenty of content).

It's the reason I've stayed away from Trials HD is how frustrating it can get..lol

      • Off-topic… but everyone should grab Bastion for 1200 points. It is not on sale, but is the single greatest XBLA game ever IMO and well worth even 2000 points!

        • It looks fun but i couldn't stand the voice over tbh and it's why i wouldn't buy it..Maybe if i see it at 400pts someday..lol

        • That's pretty much one of the main features of the game, so probably not the best full price purchase!

        • I don't think I've ever bought anything on XBLA that wasn't discounted. :P

    Your Shape DLC added.

    • thanks, will be needed after all the vegging out playing games on sale :)

      • If my copy of Your Shape wasn't collecting dust in a drawer, I'd find your comment funny :)

  • My favourite XBLA title ever has to be Limbo. Only very short, but its so creepy and darkly atmospheric. Love it.

Thanks for the excellent post steveau, just picked up Trials HD.
Does anyone remember Elastomania (or Elma)? Trials HD reminds me of it a lot.

    • No worries at all! I love XBLA games (more than retail) so it is good to share the love.

Agreed about the similarity. Though IMO, getting a record on Elma is infinitely more difficult than getting a record on Trials. Good elma players are freaks of nature.

So sad there will be no Limbo 2 :(

Even though its only 4 hours long, and 1200 points, a good but short game is always better than a mediocre game that drags on way too long. I'm thinking of getting Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet for the same reason… short but good. It has a very similar art style to Limbo (if you haven't heard of it already)… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpyNodpf7xk

      • I love indie games (I have a Steam library FULL of them as well). I love cheap, quality, bite size entertainment and a good indie game really checks all those boxes.

I'm a huge fan of main stream games as well, they are just in a whole different league. For example, at the moment I'm splitting my time between BIT.TRIP RUNNER and Gears of War 3. About as different as you can get in terms of gaming, but both brilliant in their own right.

Yeah I've been eyeing Shadow Planet for a while - I just have so many games I haven't got around to playing haha.

blegh to owning soo many games..I'm in the same boat! XD It's baaad..Sometimes i think i just 'collect' games instead of playing them. lol

          GoW3 is brilliant :D

  • Stupid question, but how do I get these games on special? I've looked on the x-box and just through the browser but they're normal price. Thanks

    • Not a stupid question at all. You can alternatively pay for them via the web. For example, here is the direct link to Torchlight: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Torchlight/66acd00….

If you sign in using the email addrexs/password combo that you use to sign in (assigned to) on your Xbox. If you google any of the games with the word Marketplace, then you will get directly to each game, i.e. "Trials HD Marketplace" or "Outland Marketplace".

      • Thanks for the reply steveau, i was looking for some sort of "sale page" so thanks for pointing this out for me :) ian

Oh, then next time you start your Xbox, the games will start downloading automatically.

  • This is not the comment you are looking for.

  • My dashboard says torchlight is 400 points under the "extreme shopping sale" but I clic it and it's 1200 :( xbox for the fail!!!!

    • That's unfortunate, surely they should remove the ad before they adjust the price.

    • Possibly too late for the bargin? :((
