Kinda defeats the purpose if it requires power to function….

Get two, one to power the other…

According to the link it does not require batteries.

      • It definitely does. Mine is powered by Eneloops.

        • Model Number 10268
          Number of Pieces 826
          Assembly Required Yes
          Batteries Required? No
          Batteries Included? No
          Remote Control Included? No

        • "Turn the nacelle left or right and switch on the included Power Functions motor to rotate the adjustable wind turbine blades and illuminate the cottageā€™s porch light."

Thanks for the downvotes guys but perhaps downvote amazon instead? both quotes from the webpage.

          • @JokerOZ: Yeah Amazon's descriptions are often inaccurate, nothing new there, but how would you assume an electric motor can derive power without batteries?

            • @Miami Mall Alien: Well it IS supposed to be a wind turbine - so wind? Also I only saw the second part in the description AFTER I posted. I generally just skim the specs.

              • @JokerOZ:

Well it IS supposed to be a wind turbine - so wind?

                Err… wind inside your house?

Maybe if you ate nothing but beans and drank nothing but Coke all day, possibly.

                • @Miami Mall Alien: Another NEG?
That comment was meant to be funny too. Oh well. PPL soo serious.

    The lamest lego kit ever.

ANd $269 for that? $269 can get you some wayyyyyyyyy cooler sets than that ugly thing.

Surprising Lego price it that high.

    • Yep, 800pc set with the wildest rrp ever.

    • That's because it is to do with renewables.

      • It's more likely due to licensing/royalties agreements with Vestas, who are a real Danish manufacturer of wind turbines and whose branding and presumably wind turbine designs, Lego have used in this set.

It's the same reasons Star Wars, Marvel or Disney-themed Lego sets cost significantly more than an equivalent set of equal or similar piece count from one of Lego's original themes like City, Creator or Friends.

  • I'd buy at low $200's when they need to clear it .

  • Vendor in title please

  • Price appears to be back at RRP $329.99

  • I can see this going lower

    • I can see it going around in circles

  • and it's gone!

  • "For boys and girls aged 12+ and for fans and big kids of all ages" - I see what they did there.

      For fans of fans

for when you want to give your kids cancer?

That's the mobile phone reception tower set no #10888. Coming next year.

    • man, that joke went down like a bird near a wind turbine or something ;)

  • I like it but it looks so darn boring to build. Way overpriced.

$180 is my max price. I know that will likely never happen but I will not miss this set if I never have it.

For that price you can get a Dyson if you want a desk fan at home.

I take it this is going to be quite a polarising set amongst AFOLs and I'm not normally a fan of the Lego City/Creator/Architecture themes at all, but this set is actually a metre tall with a turbine blade diameter of 62cm, so it does look quite impressive as a coffee table display piece or on a floating shelf (especially in a room full of minimalist IKEA furniture or something), and especially when it's left powered on.

I agree the pricing is way too steep for what you're getting but it's a surprisingly cool-looking set in person.

  • Son wanted it from Santa later year, but it didn't come. Probably would have bought it if I had seen it before it expired. Having said that not convinced its the best set for the money.
