Thanks OP
I hear this is the year of Linux.
The joke is "year of Linux on the Desktop". It already dominates most other fields from embedded, mobile phones, servers, to supercomputer.
Sort of is the year of Linux on the Desktop. Microsoft announced Windows 10 will soon run Linux GUI apps!
meh…still virtualised on bad OS. Why not go for the real deal, and run Linux straight mate.
@dabump: Can't bring myself to blow away Solaris;-)
Haha…It's not 2008 mate. Linux already won! :) As Arch user, I'm very impressed with new Ubuntu 20.04. The joke @manic refers to might not be seen as joke in close future :)
My collection of amazon books i wont read is nearly getting as big as the list of udemy courses i have and will never open.
Who am i kidding, udemy 10 - 1
Now $4.48AU
it's showing as Kindle Price:$4.53, am I doing something wrong?
For some topics a "crash course" doesn't sound very promising.
I had a quick read through "Boeing 747: The Ultimate Crash Course" and it was a disaster.
The Linux crash course prepares you for when running sudo pacman -Syyu inexplicably breaks something, causing non stop crashes.
Unfortunately, there is no crash course for Linux, it's all hands-on, break/fix and accumulate experience, level up game lol
Anyway, free book is always good to have lol
Best way to learn it is to just use it. It's actually quite simple once you get a handle on the terminal commands. I'm using Linux Mint and I could almost replace Windows entirely with it.
18+ year Linux desktop user here ;-) Glad to hear. Now you can run Linux apps on WSL on Windows with GPU acceleration lol
Pretty sure that involves a proposed kernel addition that's still some ways away from being approved. So doesn't look like wsl has gpu acceleration right now, but maybe in six months…
Accidentally bought it for $4.53. Hopefully Amazon will refund me
I wanted to say I missed out on this but upon clicking on the link figured out I have bought it on 20 March 20
He was my favourite character in Charlie Brown.
