they only deal in Baby Formula tins or fraudulently acquired degrees

    • No sense in that.

  • +1

Bought 20 just to use the screen for big-ass white Wallpapers for my living room. Who wants to buy the 20 unitS off me, no Screen included, you just need flat white walls in your house?

  • OOS…Ozbargained?

  • +10

perfect way to spend the early release from super.

    • +2

      Chaotic Good

    • Hahahahahaha dayum this comment made me laugh

    • This is a better investment for your future. This TVs value can only go up!

  • bought 1, good for my ps3

Ozbargain or Chinese-bargain? Chinese calls oz gum and dog and baned barly and beef import. Disgusting. You oz people don't have guts? I won't buy any Chinese brand from now on. They are governed and owned by their communist government.

    • The thing is even the non Chinese owned brands are still made in China. Like those USA or UK owned branded products but are made in China. It's hard to find an electronic product these days which is not made in China.

Even my new Xbox One X which i just setup today is made in China. And yet it's a USA owned brand.

      • +7

Not endorsing Tiger's comment but there's a difference between Chinese made and Chinese owned for those interested in a boycott. China obviously benefits more from selling brands they own.

      • +1

Sony TVs are not necessarily made or assembled in China, for example.

    • +7

downvote their comment all you want, but they are right. we are piss ants to the CCP. But it is important to make the distinction, between the CCP and the Chinese people. If you continue to buy chinese products, especially in the absence of other brands even if they are made from some chinese parts, you are only making the CCP stronger. The excuse "yeah but like everything is made in china" is just a cop out excuse for "yeah but i want it at the lowest price" which is fine, but at least be honest with yourself. I get it though, we have gone down the rabbit hole, myself included, but we can do better. Chinese made or owned, makes no difference when the CCP considers any chinese company theirs. Definitely don't hate on the chinese people though.

I’m boycotting this chinese made product. Nothings to do with me not having $10k to spend on a tv so big that wouldn’t fit in my house 😒

"It's good for feeling your viewing enjoyment grow"

Hisense might want to grow their marketing department to include some fluent English speakers if they plan on flogging $10K TVs.

    • +2

If you've never felt your viewing enjoyment grow you wouldn't understand.

      • +1

Yeah but usually my viewing enjoyment retracts after the first few minutes anyway. Perhaps i need some little blue enjoyment assistance pills.

    • Hisense might want to grow their marketing department to include some fluent English speakers if they plan on flogging $10K TVs.

That text has been changed. It's no longer on the current TGG page.

I blame TGG - they really should be checking their product listings before putting them live. I'm sure TGG's offices have plenty of fluent English speakers.

    • to grow their marketing department

That use of "grow" is American business jargon, not proper English :-)

      • +1

        From Merriam Webster

        Is grow a transitive verb?

Some people feel queasy when encountering grow used transitively (as in “grow the economy”). While it may grate on the ears of many, grow has existed as a transitive verb for hundreds of years, initially in relation to such things as crops, then to facial hair and the like, and finally to a small variety of other things (such as a business or the economy). The transitive form of grow sounds peculiar to many people, and you may certainly avoid using it, but it is wrong to state, as some do, that it is always improper or that it does not exist.

        ;-)

I bought a few of these to put into my train, which I could also afford.

    • +1

I see what you did there.

      Does it have speed holes?

  • "View images clearly without eyestrain with this Hisense TV's 100-inch screen." wut

    • I assume they mean it's easier to see details on a larger screen than a smaller screen.

  • +1

" It's good for feeling your viewing enjoyment grow"

Well, I guess that's one way to feel that.

  • +1

Even at this price it's a hard-sell. I mean, it's a combo at the end of the day and not a TV/monitor as we traditionally accept…
    1) Ultra short-throw projector
    2) Ambient Light Rejecting Screens screen
    3) Subwoofer

… and mysteriously missing is the projectors contrast ratio figures…

But the 18k RRP, not sure how many people purchased it, maybe the same 5 that purchased the 150" Samsung LED in Australia a few years back. I wonder if any ozbargainer was one of those 5.

    • +1

If I remember right it's not that great, like 1500:1.

      • Oh dear, I think I can confirm it is a bit low. I just saw a video on youtube and it really struggled to compare to a cheaper set. Just seemed washed out.

  • Is 100 inch optimised for 4k. Perhaps 8K is the required resolution????

In any case, amazing specs…Would love to come watch something on this tv once the lockdown ends.

    • +1

Yeah it would be like watching 2K on a 60 inch 4K TV.

At this size TV you will want 8K.

Any way who pays around $12,000 (before cash back) for a 4K TV.

    • I find with projectors you don't necessarily pixel peep. Ive got a cheap 720p projector at 120", yes it's got a soft picture, but the wow factor of watching a wall makes up for it.

  • +4

I've got an LG UST (ultra short throw) projector beamed onto my garage wall. Works a treat and I got it for $2.5k one of my favourite purchases for many years

    https://www.myprojectors.com.au/lg-hu80ks-laser-4k-projector…

This Hisense thing is a rip.

  • +2

    Bought 10 thanks.

  • +1

You're better off spending $8-$9K on the Optoma P1 projector.

  • +1

Just in time for the super release

    • +1

I wouldn't be surprised if Harvey Norman helps people with the super release paperwork if they otherwise don't qualify for Interest Free or Flexirent.

  • WTF is a laser TV.
    Sounds future tech.

    • +2

It's bad advertising. It's a laser lens on a projector.

    • +2

This "TV" is just an ultra short throw projector and a projector screen. But instead of a bulb that you have to replace every 1000-3000 hours (depending on how bright you like your image), it uses a laser that hits a phosphor coating which then creates light. It should last much longer, maybe 20,000 hours or so before it's half as bright as new. The rest of the projector might develop a fault before then though. :)

  • Who a F is buying a 100 inch tv?? Can we run a pole on here to see if there are any Oz Bargainers that are actually buying 100 inch tvs?

    • +1

Careful, you should't be running around with poles. Someone might get hurt.

Let's put it this way. If a 100" TV cost the same as a 65" TV, a lot of people will go for the 100" TV.

(Or did you mean who is buying a $10k TV?)

      • Oh jeez, that is TOTALLY what I meant. Who is searching Oz Bargain for "bargains" then then dropping 10k on a tv.

  • I will upvote for everything I can not afford lol

  • The way we are headed right now, 140 inch TV will be the reality sooner than we thought.

  • +1

Thanks OP..Just sold my car to buy two..

    • +1

I just sold my two cars to buy one.

  • it's hard to believe some people are willing to spend big money on a big TV. Even half this price.
The trend is for much smaller personal screens. Most people do most of their media watching on a phone or tablet. For those occasions when you want the lounge room experience you're better off with a good projector.

    This guy seems pretty happy….

    • +1

He must have felt his viewing enjoyment grow!

  • +1

I'm actually waiting for the Xiaomi 98" TV.

      • +1

        Not the projector. It's this:

        https://www.mi.com/redmitv/98

It's about AUD4,300 in China including delivery and setup. This kills all the projector.

        • Nice, if it was lets say $5000 for 98' here I'd downsize for sure….

          • @mdcsooty: I'm wondering if we could Group buy and put into a container and import to here. Even the cost is $8,000 each still kills such high end projectors deals.

            • @go2home: I know what you mean, got the tape measure out and check against target wall, it would be a good fit.
We will see if they bring them here as I would buy, I'd be wary of personally importing something so expensive

        • Looks awesome. I'd be interested if someone wants to organize a group buy. GST and shipping will likely make this impractical though…

  • These get a lot of news and articles etc but why would people not buy the VAVA 4K UST for $5.5k from Amazon or the Optoma P1 for approx $8k both of which do 120' ?????

  • -1

Why don't people post about how their $400 55" Aldi TV does the same thing for 20x less ect. like they do when people post about expensive cars?

    • They do but only in reply to TVs from reputable brands. When they feel like they need to justify wasting money on a bad TV rather than spending a little extra for a good one.

  • 100 inch TV! WOW!

I reckon you got 100 inch tv you have made it in life like dead set winning!

I got a 65inch in my place this is 60% larger i cant imagine it!

  • Got 2 thanks OP, DVDs would look great on this

  • -1
  • So has any other person on here brought one or is every
    All mouth n trousers lol

  • I feel the Xiaomi Mijia 4K Laser Projector, Dark Energy ALR screen, Chromecast and any soundbar/sub combo is better value. Add a TV tuner as well if you need that and also a few slabs of beer and you still might have some coin left over.

  • Damn. You snooze you loose. Out of stock

    • lol. Nobody will have lost by not buying this though.

  • This is a Projector not a TV. Why is it so expensive? Xiaomi Mijia 4K Laser Projector is probably gonna give you a bigger screen at a much better price.

  • what on earth are you meant to do with a tv this large? Is this actual viable? Does it come with a lounge room big enough to fit it?

  • +1

If I can afford this TV I won't be browsing ozbargin now.

  • Or you could get one of these for 60% off:

    https://factoryplus.com.au/television/oled-tvs/lg-oled88z9pt…

  • 11k for a HIghsense… - no thanks

  • I imagine this is going to look good in my 1000sqm garden.

  • Just think, soon cash purchases over $10K will get you a 2 year jail sentence. You could go to jail just for buying this TV with cash!

  • +1

Back in stock with free delivery for those who missed out.

  • I'd hate to drop it.
