  • Please post your receipt (de-identified, of course) so that other might have a better chance for the pricematch.

    • Hope I linked that receipt image correctly

  • Site says "on backorder"

  • ATL?

    • It was 19xx with 10% gc in Nov in HN.

      • -3

Yes it was but I was in NQ then. All other deals have now expired and there are still others looking for this tv judging by the posts on expired deals?

        • +3

The question was is this ATL, not what you were doing when it hit ATL lol…

    • +2

      Not even close

    • Much cheaper a month ago

    • Definitely not. I got it from good guys on black friday (no price matching etc) for $2066 with free delivery. And that wasn't even ATL

    • Think I paid in the $1800-1900.
If you are accustomed to IPS or OLED, and can’t sit everyone right in front, don’t buy this screen. This screen is VA and just off axis it’s very washed out.

      • +1

Think most high end non-OLEDs will be VA because of the better contrast vs IPS. I don't have issues with the viewing angles on this TV.

      • I won one too, and I don't think it's too washed out. Past a certain point you're looking at a distorted image anyway, this is fine until there.

  • Trying to upload receipt image but not having much success in edits and what does ATL mean?

    • +1

      All time low

    • +1

Upload to an image host (eg. imgbb.com) and post link here.

      All Time Low.

Deeaammm beaten by 9 seconds 😂

    • +1

      ATL means All time lowest

    Wait til Boxing Day

    • +1

      How's that going

  • What would be a good sale price for this tv? 1500?

  • +1

You haggle price on anything at The Good Guys, it's just the agency brands that they can't really move on.

    • Agreed. They also did the Shark Navigator Pet vacuum for $230 when it was on "special" for $299

    • Which would be agency brands?

      • Apple, Miele, Asko are some I can think of.

      How?

    • From 21 days ago though - Would they still match?

      • They just price matched for $1,995 for me today. Not as good as $1725 though https://i.imgur.com/aIF7h1W.png

Let me know if you want the code :)

        • Yes please, could you please send me the discount code

  • +1

One of the worst deals posted for this TV.

  • +3

It may take a while to see new lows thanks to the AUD

  • Got mine delivered on Friday $1720 + $26 for recycling old TV.

    • -1

      How?

      • +1

        In this post

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/877918

Bruce Whiteshark shared the receipt of purchasing this TV for $1725.30 delivered from his local TGG store. Show the receipt and ask your local store to price match it.

I rang my local store and the sales person didn't ask for prove and even got rid of the $5.30 form me which is how I got it for $1720.

        • The Good Guys online told me they do not match old receipts and that was the end of that. Will call the person I spoke to in store but conscious it’s an old invoice we are working off.

        • +1

Im about to try this, wish me luck !

          • @Slinky0111: How’s it go?

            • +2

              @BargainDreams: Easy as.

              Walked into the store

Sales rep: how can I help?

Me: been looking at this tv, what price can you do?

Sr: how much are you willing to pay? Or something along those lines

Me: well done some research online and have this sales order for $1725.

Sr: thats a great price. No worries come with me.

Proceeds to order us one. There was one in warehouse but when we went to the computer it was gone.

Me: oh ill also need a tv bracket for a good price (exact words).

Sr: no worries let me see. I can do an ezymount blue for $60 (was $120).

              Me: done lock it in.

Ended up paying with 5% off gift cards so came down to $1,695.75.

The good guys north lakes qld. Obviously there was a little bit more conversation but it was straight in straight out. Easy sale for him, he was happy to price match when he saw the other receipt/sales order.

I can't understand why TV manufactures still treat their smart tv's as dumb tv's.
They focus only on visual performance, completely ignoring system performance.
It's hard if not impossible to find info on CPU, GPU, memory, storage.
Specially on Google TV's. My mobile phone has over 10x the system performance on my Sony TV.
I would love to buy a performance TV with a Snapdragon CPU, 16-32gb Memory and 256GB storage.
Would probably only cost $100-200 to a TV maker.

This is what people need to understand before jumping on the TCL bandwagon. Yes, they may provide great picture quality for the price, but wait until you actually start using it. Brands like this require an external device such as an NVIDIA Shield because the hardware inside them is complete garbage. Particularly if they’re using Google TV.

  • My local The Good Guys (Chadstone) said they can’t price match as low as VideoPro (can go to $2,350) and do not have stock til early February.

    • JB price matched $1,995 today https://i.imgur.com/aIF7h1W.png

      • Thanks was that JB online or phone call?

        • I submitted a ticket cause it was before 9am and they got back to me at 9:46am with the $1995 price.

I also used live chat but they only gave me $2200 cause they wanted a link to VideoPro and wouldn't accept the receipts from the thread because it was "black friday" sales.

          • @SnowDragon: Sorry to keep spamming you but JB chat are asking for a basket number?

            • @LeoSpaceman: They didn't for me.

For the email/ticket I sent I attached these two receipts https://imgur.com/a/dUkpRJe and said can they match it or get close.

For the live chat I sent the videopro URL (this one) and said my location was in QLD where VideoPro has the tv in stock.

I can give you the unique URL if you want it for $1995

Many thanks @SnowDragon who helped me snag a good deal with JB. I showed them the JB screenshot from their post and the online chat person looked up the history and found it was in response to price matching VideoPro.

Now where my deal diverged from SnowDragon’s was that I said a Victorian post code. So in the end, it came down $2,081 (including VideoPro’s delivery to VIC from QLD) and they also did a deal for the XCD mount, bringing it down to $76.

Rookie mistake from me not picking up on the QLD thing and was a bit too lazy to start the process again, pretending to be a Queenslander. The key thing therefore is to give them a QLD postcode and then put in your correct delivery address when you do the rest of it online. Right now JB are doing free local delivery. I offset some of the pain by using JB gift cards via Bupa LifeRewards (4.5% off).

I can post the screenshot but it is inferior to SnowDragon.

    • Turns out videopro don't deliver to tassie which I quickly confirmed when the rep asked for my postcode.

Just chucked in 3011 and that worked so told the rep the same.

But yeah - worth checking where they have the TV in stock for the free pickup match

  • VideoPro just dropped the price to $1980 and JB matched their price. Perfect gift for Christmas. Thanks everybody for sharing their info.

    • can you please share the receipt for price match? videopro seem to have removed their link..

Walked into the good guys north lakes told him we were looking at the tcl 57" c855 told him we had done some research and others had paid $1725 for it, showed him the above good guys order and he was happy to match it. Unfortunately out of stock in the warehouse but that's ok. Did the ezymount blue for $60.

Then paid with 5% off gift cards so total price was $1,695.75

    • +1

Can you share the invoice please?

      • There don’t seem to be any Boxing Day deals for the 75C855. Any chance you could share the receipt?

        • Will do. Give me 5mins

          • @Slinky0111: Thank you, but I can’t check the order date. Could you please share what shows order date? sorry🥹

            • +3

              @chanieee: https://ibb.co/Ny7t9fx

              Hope that is slightly better.

              • @Slinky0111: Thank you - I am hoping to use this screenshot to get JB HiFi online chat to refund the difference on my order. @SnowDragon in case you missed this.

EDIT: JB HiFi online not matching as it isn't the advertised price online…will try calling a store or the phone line tomorrow.

              • @Slinky0111: Many thanks for the receipt. Unfortunately either of JB or TGG online chat or call centre will match this. They only match the price on TGG website. The TGG call centre sales even said you can go straight to North Lake and get it😂

JB stores in Sydney only match the TGG online price as well. Probably TGG NSW stores will say similar things as their call centre.

              • @Slinky0111: Thanks for receipt. Unfortunately, I heard from a TGG guy that this receipt is a scam. I’m in WA, and he mentioned this one’s from QLD, so apparently it’s not legit. Might just wait for the next sale instead.

                • @chanieee: Try a different store ? PM me if I can help any other way. 100% not a scam.

                  • @Slinky0111: Of course, I know it’s not a scam. The tgg staff probably just said that because they didn’t want to price match. But thanks so much for offering to help, really appreciate it :) There’ll be more deals anyway, so I’ll just wait it out. Wishing you a happy new year 😊

  • Anyone know where stock of these are got the 1725 deal start of december but no stock from TGG

    • Got mine delivered 2 days before Christmas - Queensland.
