  • Good buy! I wonder if the toners exxy.

  • I see they also have a 640GB WD portable (2.5"?) HD on the front page for $149?!?!

that's pretty damn cheap isn't it??? the best we've seen so far is about $99 for 250GB!

  • ahhhh i see….too good to be true, lol

thanks for the heads up dansor

  • Some reviewers complain about constant paper jamming with this particular printer, anyone have any experience with it?
Either way, buying it solely for the external hard drive may be worth it.

  • If you want this then get on with it - locally (Melbourne), Bundoora did not carry this model and the bigger store at Preston did have only two and now only one as I just bought one :))

At the best price of $109 + postage from http://www.tradeclub.com.au/ (that I could find) for the Lacie I figured the printer for 10 dollars was a bargain.

The Lacie 500 gig is $161.85 at Officeworks online.

  • I was looking at this Cannon/Lacie deal a month or so ago & the best price I found at the time was around $175, so $129 seems hard to go past. I was put off by the bad reviews (excessive jamming / "flimsy" design) & the cost of the EP26 (genuine) toner at around $95, though if memory serves OK, this is one of the Cannons that has a combined toner/drum. I ended up getting a Samsung ML-2010 for $49 at Computer Alliance & OW did a price match -5% against MSY for the (genuine) toner/drum at $61.75.

    Cheers,
    Live Long and Print.

  • Got mine running with ZERO problems - not flimsy (nothing fell off) - hasn't jammed on 30 to 40 printed pages - I suspect those two anonymous reviews were by someone not loading it properly.

It just works :)) .. (so far, anyway)

    • Glad to hear the printer is running fine 4 U OzDude :) Other reviewers have also been complimentary, so I hope the printer proves reliable for U 2. I'm happy with my little mono Samsung [2c/page printing = :) :) :) ], so all the best with this good value deal on the Cannon/Lacie…

      Cheers,

  • I might buy this and put the printer on ebay…. anyone know if i would be able to sell it and for how much?

    • I thought about that too. Had a look, brand new is currently sold for $100 and no one is biting. Generally printers don't sell well on feebay.

  • and what model is the hard drive?

  • By the picture:
    It should be this one:

  • I wonder if you get to keep the hdd if you return the printer?

    • yeah, anyone know?

    • I highly doubt so as you will need to cut-out the barcode and send in the original to redeem the HDD.

If there's no barcode, how is officeworks suppose to scan the printer?

      • How about provide them a scanned barcode. :)

        • In the redemption form, one of the requirements is for you to provide an original cut-out of the barcode. Otherwise, no HDD. :(

  • I just bought this deal…

    hopefully receiving hard drive soon

  • and anyone know how long it takes to receive the HDD?

  • Just bought this from Glen Waverly store at Melb, there is still one available and according to the staff, the Clayton store also has some in stock. May consider selling the HDD at Ebay, then got the printer for free.

  • Managed to get one for 70 odd dollars on clearance at local officeworks in brisbane cbd
(it was a return but printer seems to work fine). I have sent off redemption and I hope it all works out. OZBARGAIN rawks! I have been a luker for a while thought i better register to show my appreciation for the site.

    • Well done CyberDude. Even if the printer turned out to be complete rubbish, you'd still have a very cheap 500GB ext HDD!!! Good to see a fellow BrisVegian scoring a bargain.

  • i have only been here four years but its all good so far earl :)

Next door neighbor just got his car done over for a gps pretty lame.

back on topic, has anyone recieved a hard drive yet?

(printer seems fine 100 pages no jams yet although it does curl paper pretty bad heat?)

    • Paper curling from heat… Yeah, me two with my cheepie Samsung; but only a problem when doing "manual duplex". Still, it doesn't cause any jamming, so I'm happy for $49, though not as happy as if I'd scored a HDD to go with it!! Have wondered if "better" paper will curl less? Time will tell.

      Cheers,
      Live Long and Prosper.

  • Got my LBP3200 sold in the Monash Market.Waiting for the HDD now. Was told to wait for 28 days before it get delivered.
For Laser printer, I still recommand HP 1320. It is a auto-duplex printer, quite small size, and the toner has 4000 pages printing life(I finish the first toner over 2 years.)
The only problem is manual paper feeder doesn't work properly which is a design issue. But anyway I have two trays now. One for good paper (double printing), one for recycled paper (1 side printing)

The new HP p2015 was designed to replace the HP 1320. But by spec. It doesn't improve much, even missing the auto-duplex (you have to get an P2015D to have the auto Duplex now, which cost almost $600).

  • Some ppl have already get the HDD and selling on ebay now. Some ppl even selling both the printer and HDD on ebay.

  • Received the HDD today, sent the form on July 11, pretty quick I think.

    • Can't complain about that!!!
      [ :- { )

  • yeah mine arrived yesterday was very pretty quick what a bargain!

  • Very old now, but I got mine within a week from Canon.
