I have this 10"(?) version that can be sideways or upright (even though very little works in portrait mode).
I also have google/NEST display.
The mikes on the Lenovo is not nearly as effective as the google display. The speaker in the Lenovo is better than the original google/nest display, but we often have to repeat the question… I moved the google display to our bedroom / gave another NEST display to my parents and both those microphones are at least twice as good as the lenovo.
Do are we able to install apps on these. Would be pretty decent if I can have it running as a monitor for Ring. Doorbell
It's a specific firmware for Google home with screen. No "apps" can be installed. But nest cameras do work with it. Others too. , Hey Google show me front door". Not sure on ring
You may be able to root it. No idea. In that case an Android tablet is better
I'd like to have this for in the kitchen but i got nowhere to put it and would rather have a flat one that i can mount onto the fridge…

I have got the Lenovo Smart Display 7", Google Nest Hub and Google Nest Hub Max
From my personal experience, I feel like the Google Home Hub (and Max) runs more smoothly than the Lenovo display
No matter on the interface or the voice response speedBesides, while both the Lenovo Smart Display and Nest Hub max both have the camera
seems only the Nest Hub Max Camera can work as a security camera and integrate with Nest Aware cloud subscription
