great i paid $15 this morning from the logitech website.
It still surprises me how many people get upset when they miss out on the flash sale bargains. The whole point of these sales is obvious. They are a marketing 'stunt' to have people sign up the site. There is never any intention to provide any decent number of these items. They would be crazy to sell huge numbers and make a massive loss. The point is to have people signed up for their 'normal' sales of warehouse clutter that they are trying to get rid of. For anyone who has been watching these sales for a while you will know that the servers crash and the whole checkout system is flawed (ie even though you add the item to your cart and submit payment details you still don't get the item) but of course COTD don't really care if this happens for these flash sales as you have already joined the site. COTD work with getting maximum number of customers making them "the number 1 site" but have very little regard for customer experience if you have ever tried dealing with them.
Then how come so many of us were able to get these earphones and why are they still available? Seems like they have plenty of them to sell.
I'm sure you will agree there is a big difference in bargain between a $5 pair of earphones and a $199 PS3. The bait of this sale are the monitors, PS3, camera, Nintendo 3DS and the Nerf gun. I'm pretty sure they had a lot more headphones than they did monitors.

I don't see anyone, anywhere in this thread who's upset at missing out; only a few people who are somewhat annoyed that they bought before seeing that a free shipping coupon was available. And even though the coupon has expired, the updated deal is still pretty good.

I don't doubt there are customer service issues with COTD, because a few people on OzBargain keep reminding us that there are, but I've personally never had any reason for complaint.
Totally agree with you that COTD did a great job with the headphones which they had a lot of and there is little complaint on this 'bargain' on this thread. No argument there at all. However as per my reply above there is a big difference between the $5 headphones and a $199 PS3. If you dont think that anyone is upset just take a look at their FB page.
I didnt think the earphones were part of the flash sale, just a one off.
Plus I dont think anyone can defend COTD flash sales as the intention of COTD is not to sell items below cost cause they care about you saving but to generate word of mouth and awarness for the site.
Plus the way they sell themselves to investors (articles in business mags) is by stating they are the most daily visited website in the country with a massive customer membership.
In order to substantiate this claim they run these 'gimmick sales'
Imagine the number of people who have told friends about this amazing place selling ps3 below cost.
I have had problems with the quality of items from cotd which customer service have quickly resolved, but its still a pain in the ass having to return faulty items.
I have no idea what these headphones are, and I already have enough headphones. But I brought one anyway just cause of the number of votes here!

Yes. Actually I Was talking of the initial deal with free shipping. This one with shipping is also good, but I passed it. I had very bad experience with COTD earlier twice, so until and otherwise, I am in need of the item and it is a super good deal, I am not going to buy it from them.

I have mastered the COTD crapathon's! In all seriousness though, they sell out super quick. By the time I had conformation of the order and went back to the main screen the BENQ was sold out, the PS3 said almost gone - after a refresh it was sold out.
